How often should you update content for optimal SEO results?

Depends on the niche. For me, I only need to update one article per day.

I never use social media, I almost never update any sites once they rank. When you look at some old HTML sites from the 90s or early 2Ks you will see that they rank for some juicy KWs and last update point was like 10 years ago. These are basically "dead" sites, but due to their authority, history, on-page SEO (I guess) they are still in top results.

Like SrS said, depends on the niche... but many niches are updating all the time, some niches are dynamic and others never change. The more dynamic it is the more often you should post.

It depends on the niche. But in the beginning, a few times a month should enough.don't need to blog every day. Don't need to blog every day. Just a couple of times a week works better. Make sure all your blog posts are useful and relevant to your readers.

it doesn't matter.
social signals have no impact on your rankings(as my my exp.), however getting lots of rts and shares on social media can manipulate your rankings for a while but it will be back to same soon.
so to answer your question, i do schedule 4 posts on FB and twitter. 2 promotions of the site banners mostly and 2 quotes or something what they call 'cute' images.

The generation also benefits a regular blogging is working. When update a blog posts has increased from once to twice per week,a number of incoming can almost two way.

Updating viral contents regularly will always work. It provides both traffic and improve rankings for sure. Look out for your competitors and do quality stuffs ahead of them to make yours rank on top.

Twice per week is enough IMO. And, its completely niche dependent.

SkyrocketSEO is right, however if you feel like you need to update content then I would do it at least once a week, depending on what your website is about.

It's depend on your wish. I usually update 3-4 quality content per week. Make sure the content should be useful and related to your niche.
