How often should I update old blog posts to boost SEO?

Updating old posts every 3–6 months is enough. Refresh keywords, add new info, and improve structure it helps keep rankings stable and sometimes boosts them.

I’ve been updating some of my older posts, but I’m not sure how often it’s necessary. What’s the optimal frequency for updating old blog content to keep it ranking well?
There’s no fixed rule, but a good approach is to review and update your older posts every 3–6 months, depending on the topic. Evergreen content may need only minor tweaks, while fast-changing topics (tech, trends, health) benefit from more frequent updates. Focus on improving accuracy, adding new insights, refreshing keywords, and updating links - even small updates can help maintain or boost rankings. The key is consistent attention rather than hitting a strict schedule.

Every few months is fine.
Update when the info gets outdated or the rankings start slipping, no strict schedule needed.

All old blog posts do not require updation. You should only update those posts which require updation. Like suppose , you are covering some job that came out and few days later there is some new information to be added to that job description, you should then update the blog.
