How NOT to build an Instagram Empire! :D

Hello everyone,

Over the last 4 months I've been growing 2 instagram accounts using online automation services and up to date I have around 50k in total followers. Seeing how easy is it to grow your accounts I decided to go much bigger and set up 100 IG accounts being inspired by many Journeys here on BHW.

So what I did:

• Bought a VPS
• Bought 50 "Instagram" proxies from sslprivateproxies
• Bought Mass Planner subscription and modules
• Bought 100 PVA accounts from XCG
• Chose my usernames and niches wisely
• Manually selected thousands of HQ photos

After my accounts arrived, I immediately started setting them up in Mass Planner (since I was told that these accounts are perishable if not used in a few days). First 50 were okay, I got only 1 phone verification during the process. I was very enthusiastic about it, even though it was a big pain in the ass to manually change all the logos and bios.

After that everything went the wrong way. When I started adding another 50 (using same the proxies I used for the first 50), almost every account was struck with phone verification.

So I had to go and buy around 20 burner numbers to deal with that (yes, I know there is SMSPVA service in MP). After I phone verified them all, once I started editing bios and logos many of them were struck again. Okay not a big deal, I double verified them uploaded some photos and let them sit for a day. Next morning when I woke up, all I saw was around 60 red lines in MP, saying that they all need verification again...

Okay, I verified them again (I guess you can do it 5 times before it goes to shit), uploaded pictures, found good accounts to get followers from and set a limit of 100 followers per day. First few days were okay, phone verifications here and there but not many, generated around 6k followers in total. Guess what happens next - temp blocks. Yesterday I received temp blocks on ALL OF MY ACCOUNTS, even following less than 50 people per day.

Right now I am letting them sit for a few days, hoping it will fix something. I have a feeling that I chose my following settings very poorly. MP was performing following operation once in 45-to-90 minutes, following 5-7 people per operation with 20 seconds delay between each follow. I guess that it was a big mistake since following a bunch of people and doing 20 seconds intervals is bad (these settings are near default setting in MP so I thought that it was normal). I tweaked my settings to make 100-150 seconds intervals and will try following people again tomorrow.

I know that it is possible to follow 600 people per day almost from day one and be okay, I do it everyday on 2 of my personal accounts and received a temp block only once. That's the reason why I don't want to give up and never will - I KNOW THAT IT CAN WORK, even though it takes a lot of energy to handle 100 accounts and have a full time job.

What I am planning to do if temp blocks don't go away:

• Change proxies and create 100 accounts by myself (so that there is no "proxy change" in the beginning)
• Tweak my settings on following and liking
• Do it the safest way possible taking into account feedback that I hopefully receive in this thread

Also I wanted to ask people who know shit about proxies a little question: what is the difference between private and "Instagram" proxies?
Because for the price I pay for 50 proxies per month, I could afford a 100 private ones (and be on the super safe side with 1 account per proxy)
Another one is: do you think there is a relation between phone numbers areas and proxy location, does it trigger some flags?

If you are still reading this, I just want you to know that I did not create this thread to demotivate people or just simply say that it is very hard (even though it might be fucking annoying). Just imagine what you could do with 100 accounts! Sell shoutouts, drive traffic to your eCommerce (dropshipping!), promote offline business (if you geo target your followers)... in other words LOTS OF STUFF that makes money!

I hope that this thread will receive some feedback from our BHW Instagram Gurus to point out my critical mistakes, so that newbies know how NOT to build and Instagram Empire
My goal is to achieve 1M followers in 5 months once it starts to work properly and monetize it hard. Will update this thread in 2-3 days. See you guys

1) How are you going to get phone verification for the 100 accounts you are making? Where are you getting them?
2) Are you buying proxies from Proxymillion? I they have the best prices by far and many people here uses them.

if you act like a spammer you'll lose your accounts. Slow and steady.

1) I am still deciding whether to create them myself or just order and tell the supplier to use my proxies. Right now I verify my accounts using burner numbers that I buy for 15 days, each cost somewhere around 2$ and works for 3 accounts. So around 70$ to verify them all. (if you are interested where to get them, just type "burner numbers" in the app store on your phone)

Pros: Numbers can be from the same states where my proxies are located (not foreign country)
Cons: I will have to create 100 emails.

Managing 100 is just way too many. Start with 10-15 and scale 5 at a time

The reason behind that is very simple: your personal accs are legit accounts. I assume that they were created from your own smart device with your own ip, you manage them manually from the same device/ip they were created with, maybe even verified with your own phone number. This is the most ideal scenario, these type of accs will have the longest life expectancy and highest tolerance for blocks. Whereas when you buy accs, you can never be sure how they were created exactly, on what devices/ips, what numbers were used to make them into PVAs. When you put them into a bot, it will be a different device, when you start to use them with your proxies, it will be a different ip, maybe even from a different country. On top of that, when you do this, the device and ip change happen at once on a brand new/blank account. These all can trigger password resets, phone verify requests.

Mainly this is why i said to myself quite some time ago, that instagram can go and fuck themselves and i moved onto/back to Twitter.
Since then i sleep better and my wrinkles are gone lol

It's just semantics. If you read anywhere that "instagram proxy" on a proxy provider's site, you can be 100% sure that those are private proxies, they just put under a different category, because instagram is more sensitive about the ips/proxies than most sites, hence these proxies often cost more than regular private proxies.

My take on this will be to get 10-20 accounts max. Building authority accounts will surely pay more. However, time required for this will be more and patience is surely required to get these going.

Did you buy the MP poster / reposter module?
How did you set this up what are the parameters you used?

I think that once everything is set up and working fine, there is no big difference between managing 10-25-50 accounts, all you need to do later is just finding good content, that's it.
Also going with more accounts gives you more chances to create "lucky" accounts. For example, 4 out of my 100 accounts have crazy follow back ratios of 50%-60%.
My point is that, you can see what performs better and build 10 main accounts out of 100 and use another 90 to feed 10 main ones, I see no harm in that.

Yes I bought it from day one. Well, there is nothing difficult in setting them up, you just buy modules and they appear in your Mass Planner. There are lots of useful settings and they are very simple to understand.
If you ask more specific question, I would be able to answer it better. It is just there are too many different small things and if I start to write about all of them it is going to be a very long post.
Btw, Mass Planner have excellent video tutorials on their web site.

My main concern is that these are just re branded standard private proxies, selling for a higher price.

Update:

After letting my accounts sit for 2 days, I finally started performing following operations with tweaked settings. Will see what's going to happen at the end of the day.
If everything will be temp blocked again I am planning to do something epic, stay tuned.

I guess you'll never know that. But if they don't work on instagram for any reason, you can ask for replacements, because they intended to work no matter what, whereas regular private proxies may or may not work on instagram. If they don't, you won't be able to ask for replacements. Also you can often experience that a proxy works for account managing, but it is no good for account creation anymore.

Yes, there is such a risk, but since you will have different proxies you will not lose all of your accounts. Also sometimes you can easily retrieve your account by just writing to Instagram and sending them a picture of you holding the numbers they send.

Update:

Accounts are still hitting temp blocks, but at least after following 30-40 people (I guess settings tweaking helped a bit)
Decided to let them sit for 2 weeks (should be enough even for severe temp blocks)

Meanwhile, I will probably buy or create another 100 accounts and get 200 proxies to accommodate each of them.
I am still thinking about it, but I don't want to waste 2 weeks.

If everything works I should have 200 accounts working properly by May 1.
This time there is no room for fucking up.

With all this shit going on with my accounts, they still generated 10k followers in 4 days of following with setting turned down.

I already answered it in the previous post.
I use burner numbers that I buy in app on my iPhone. If you are interested, just pick up your phone, go to app store and search for "burner numbers".

200 proxies? I hope your still not using SSL private instagram proxies, wouldn't that cost you around $600 a MONTH? Anyways, best of luck.
