Not at all. My advice was to start fresh on a new thing.
I'm advocating focusing on that one thing exclusively, which was my point in saying that narrowing his scope will allow him to focus on mastering that one thing.
It can be easy to want to try so many things, but you end up mastering none of them, and they don't make you any money.
Best to master one thing before working on another. I'm suggesting he make that one thing his new project instead of perfecting his old one ... not in addition to perfecting his old one.
