How much would you Pay for Link on forbes

Had a service reach out to me offering links on authority website. They are offering GPs on super authority sites like inc or forbes. My question is how much would you pay for a contextual link on one of these sites? By the way I'm not promoting this service so I wont bring up the name of it.

Few weeks back i got offer from someone and he was asking for $500/link on Forbes.
 
Can you send me the name of this person so I can contact them? This is what I'm looking for.
 
It is difficult to decide how much to pay for such links. It is therefore good to look at the advantages of such a link and compare it with your marketing pans and budget.
 
That's like asking "how much would you pay for a car?".

What type of link is it?
If editorial then is the article positive or negative?
Where will the link be placed?
Who will write the article?
What is the article about?
When will it be published?

Just a few questions you SHOULD be asking!
 
I've seen it for $125 before, I've seen it for $250 before. Is it worth this? Is it more valuable than what that money could otherwise buy? That depends on how little your money means to you and how desperate you are for a small rank boost. If your site is making big money then why not buy it? If you aren't banking then why risk it on what may or may not help. That is my view.

What you'll likely be getting is a contributor blog post.

They are contextual in content links. They write the article and provide content on your site that the article would link to. Quoted $1,000 to $5,000 Pm for the business name.
 
At the end of the day, it really boils down to whether it is even worth it. I would rather use the $5000 on other seo stuff than a single forbes link.
 
Im guessing somewhere between $150-300 depending on where and what type of article.
 
They're ALWAYS contributor links, so unless they get picked up I doubt they are nearly as valuable as a non-contributor Forbes link.
 
Are you looking to add this link for your particular brand or a ranking boost? if the latter is the case then you can buy an expired domain on this forum with links from CNN, BBC, Forbes and the NYTimes plus many more for $50 and 301 it to your site. There you go, now 5K - 50 = 4950 send it to my papalzzzz!!

Well I guess it's worth it. Or still, you can use your budget on some quality network. But yeah budget is still the issue.
 
Depends on whether the article is on a high authority page if the link will be added to an existing article (would pay $300 max for that). If a new article is going to be written, then the article must gain internal links from other high authority pages on the Forbes domain for it to be worth anything above $100.
 
$1000-$1200 is a legit price for such link. Anything less or more, you are gonna get scammed.
 
Wouldn't mind paying $1k for it. You can get so much more than just a link from an article in those sites... I would never pay $1k for the sake of getting a link there, but having a an article talking about me/company/brand is like a boost when closing leads.

You dont go to Forbes for contextual links. SEO wise its not going to give you much.
The real price is this:

$ = 0.1 * traffic from forbes * conversion rate * your product price

E.q. 10% of the sales you are going to make. So if the article has a very good chance to go viral, I expect to earn $50,000, then $5000 sounds like a reasonable price to pay.
 
Not really, i know sellers offering it for $300-400 :)

The prob is, the mods of the site, who're giving such valuable link - they cant advertize/offer such link in open, else they will lose their editorship, which leads to middle-men!
