How much would YOU pay for a professional logo?

Contest on Freelancer gives me about 30 results, with about 5-10 behind HQ and also gives me some ideas for around $30.

I charge clients 50-250 and UP depending on the type of business, and it's brand value.

I worked at a graphic design company who specialized in vinyl decals for manufacturing (was originally a sign/print shop, moved on to vinyl as printing became somewhat obsolete) - we charged $90 / hour for design of anything to walk-in customers. If someone wanted a cheap business card designed I was only allotted 15 minutes max to create a "logo" and their contact info, etc and get them a proof lol. Anyways, for our big clients we only charged ~$60 / hour (they paid me only $9.75 / hour at the time btw)...A professional logo should be at a minimum in the multi-hundred dollar range, and ofc as some ppl have mentioned already if you're talking big corporate companies it can be in the 6-7 digit range as well.

Essentially the market is so over saturated with self proclaimed "Graphic Designers" that you might as well pursue an entirely different way to make money. If you are going to continue to follow your designing dreams, then the only way to make good money is to be absolutely astonishing w/ your design skills and hit clients who you can charge thousands of dollars for design and still be the cheapest cost in their entire business Lol...Good luck

hi,

Very good designs.Price depends on how many things clients wish to include in the logo. You may break up the whole task into small tasks and price them individually. As a whole you sum up and get the full price.

All the best.

I wouldn't pay more then 10 bucks, my sites aren't that big, but if i had bigger business i woudn't mind paying lot more.

I was working for 2 years in an advertising agency in a small Eastern-European country, where average monthly salary is around 1000 usd. We were charging 400-800 usd for casual logos. 1,5-2x more for simple CVIs. That being said, our prices were far from high.

You need to segment your customers. Meaning different price for different customers and test it out. Price higher for offline clients u meet, and try different prices online.

From what I observe on other people selling design services online, ur quality of design would probably be going for $10 - $30. Offline you can charge $200.

Do not listen to the people that say 5$ or lower. Trust me, it's not worth it - you have some great skills when it comes to graphic design, and I would say 25$ - 200$ is appropriate :) Great work.

There are also low-priced collections of human, alphabetical and other logo concepts and elements on the net like this one, that can be used as a starting point

If it's a custom Logo Design up to $300 in vector file, however if it's pre-made around $50

tl;dr

But the logos you posted aren't actually professional logos.

There is nothing creative about them, they don't stand well on their own and many other things on why it's 'bad'.

BUT back to your question.

The price of a logo will be different from company to company.

I did a logo for a company and I charged almost $15,000 because it was a $10M+ company.
Then I charged only $2,000 for another company because they were only a $200,000 company

So it all depends on the size of the company.

Bigger Company = Bigger Budget = More Creative Ideas

If someone from BHW requests a logo, prices go left and right.
I'd charge way more then 99% of people can afford here, but if you are looking to buy a logo, look at the previous designs and if the price is good, then purchase it. 100% you won't get quality, but at least you'll get something to start the brand.

Well for me everything that looks relatively good (not made in paint) and cost around 5$ is good, no offence. Fiverr did great job for me, may be one day when I have very big website I can invest more in to the logo but for now my AMS work great with 5 buck logos :)

Nike paid for their logo only $30...
I wouldn't pay more than $50 if I'm just starting a new business

No such thing as a Professional, everyone has different taste, as long as you like it more than the money your spending on it, it's ok =P.

If you are a small company, there is no need to invest a lot. Just make sure you have a decent logo. In time, when the company gets bigger and bigger, you will have more resources to invest.
