How much would YOU pay for a professional logo?

I would say max. $100 and i think it's a fair price. Of course if you are an authority in the field you can charge how much you want.

depends on why/who i'm buying it for. Small to medium biz up to a grand, then again I do whole sites for 300 bucks, so obviously not alot of money there for a logo

Edit: Forgot to add there is this contest design site, might be worth taking a look at. but you go up aganst a bunch of other designers.

Went on behance and contacted people I which i Liked the work, paid mine 100$ but I guess you can get it cheaper on Odesk or even cheaper on Fiverr but i wouldn't recommend fiverr i always got shitty logo from there and I prefer to pay 100$ to a skilled guy doing a great work, he is making me some new logos for 50$ this time, just chatted with him a little bit and here I am.
 
everything under 500$ i would consider not professional
 
I would pay up to 250 bucks, depends on the quality, like others have said, it also depends on the type of business I am doing also. But 250 bucks for a logo to be used online sounds fair to me if I really like the job, after all, you definitely want to have that logo that you will be remembered by too, so giving a little bit of money seems like a good investment to me . My barber is actually designing a logo for me right now to be used for a site I am working on (he is a talented graphic design student with pretty legit stuff that goes along of what I want) we haven't talked numbers yet but once he's done I will let you guys know how much he is asking for it, and how much we finally settled on. As far as freelancer goes, I only used it once and I was disappointed, dude seemed to have great reviews on the projects, but he definitely took too long and seemed confused, and struggling, and it was hard to get in contact with him when he said we would talk online and blah blah blah. From then on, I decided to only work with locals when it comes to web designing, after all I know where they live/work so tracking them down won't be as hard as it would someone from India.

For a Clean professional Design people can pay up-to 500$
But it varies business to business and person to person
The price range is 50 - 500 $. You have to set you own criteria for the effort you make the particular design.
 
I never paid for a logo, and I don't think I ever will! :p

Though I'd appreciate a nice logo for my service, I don't really have the time nor the willingness to spend some money for it. :D
 
The more you pay (in most cases) The better quality you will get. I can come up with something for $100.
