How much should SEO cost?

Ok, noob question: I have a client who may hire me to do white hat SEO for his store, and I plan on hiring other people to help me.

Now there are a lot of things included in the umbrella of white hat SEO like fix meta tags, description, fix title tags, image attributes and so on. Besides that I will submit xml map to google, add it to search monitor and basic stuff.

The store has about 300 products (average sized)

Now, I don't know EXACTLY what should be included in the package of Freelancer, but people have been asking for US$ 250 but I think it's too much.

What do you guys think? And do you have someone trustworthy for this job?

yeah $250 is definitely too much, especially as you will outsource the "work" to another noob who is even more clueless

You mention only on page seo and do you know that if you want to rank you need a off page seo - linkbuilding?

I guest you have ZERO experience in SEO. It's better to you and to your client if you pass this one.

In the end, the price is all relative.
SEO companies can charge 2000$ for an audit and others work on 99$/month.

What matters is the quality - sure you can guess/write new title tags without any keyword research and charge 250$.

A decent SEO agency does it all. On-Page, Off-Page, and fixing Technical issues.

These are all important points I didn't consider, and I appreciate all your answers.

I guess what I meant was only ON-PAGE.

Meaning, fixing the titles, meta and stuff. And we are not doing the products because they come from a feed.

Problem is my client is a bit short on cash, willing to pay maximum US$ 500-700

500 - 700$ is still decent if it's just for the basics (and a lot of product pages won't need a lot of KW research).
You might be able to do it in a day or 2, so why not.

I think there are no minimum and maximum limits in SEO and ADVERTISEMENT budgets. It just matters how much your budget is

If I be you and If i know that he can pay $500-700 for just on page - Even then I will not charge him anything more than 100 usd.

U r doing on page seo only..... Later u can convince him for link building or social media promotion and can charge him for those things too.

If he were ever to find other ppl for his "on page" needs and if he gets to know that you charged him $500 only for on page then that will only tell your client "You scammed him".


There r some guys on bhw those do on page. U can talk to them for your needs.

In some countries, $100 is just for one hour work, since it is very expensive with taxes and living. I for one, charge more per hour.
