I hear this question very often, so let’s break it down:

This post is for models who want to work independently, as well as agencies and managers.

Obvious expenses:

Traffic — for an account to function properly, you need at least 50+ fans per day. That’s 1,500 per month, with an average fan costing $0.70 — around $1,050.
If you want “golden mountains” right away, multiply that by at least 3. But I don’t recommend starting with such a budget if you have no experience — you’ll most likely just burn through it.

Hiring a model (if you don’t have one) — from $500 to $1,500 at fair market rates. According to some scouts, it could be anywhere from $500 to infinity.

Hiring/Training sexting staff or team lead services$300–600.
If you’re starting from scratch, it’s practically impossible to train sexting staff on your own.

Less obvious expenses:

Traffic that doesn’t work out (bad conversions, poor ROI, technical issues, etc.) — around $500 (a modest estimate; it can be higher).

Fixed payments for the model and sexting staff — about $1,000, since during the first months the account usually doesn’t generate income, and they might leave otherwise.

Proxies, extensions, servers, Twitter/Reddit accounts, etc. — about $300.

Withdrawal fees — about 5%. For example, at $3k revenue, that’s $150.

These are the most obvious “unforeseen” expenses, but in reality, there will be more.

Total: around $3,800 under the most favorable circumstances.

Payback period: roughly 3–4 months, again assuming favorable conditions. In fact, there are very few businesses with such fast ROI and scalability, which is why the adult niche is still very attractive. But make no mistake: there is no such thing as free money here.

This breaks down the real costs well. Adult niche can scale fast but requires solid upfront investment traffic, staff, tools, and unexpected losses add up. Expect to spend several thousand and wait months before seeing profit. It’s not a quick win, but with patience and management, it can pay off.

True, the hidden costs and slow start catch most people off guard. Treating it like a real business is the only way it pays off.

This niche demands upfront cash and time. Expect to invest thousands and wait months before profits. It’s not fast money, but steady work pays off.

Couldn’t agree more, the upfront grind separates the serious from the dabblers.

That's right. Lists that pass the test, the rest will be eliminated along the way.

Don't forget to add the plastic surgery expenses to upgrade your models ;)

Great advice for those who think that IM is easy.

You can start for free, but having $50–$200 for promotion, equipment, and branding helps boost growth.

This onlyfans model is already saturated. We are not in 2020 anymore. Next big money in the p*rn niche will be made be develloping porn VR games.
