Hello Everyone,

I want to grow my linkedin profile and find more business from linkedin but without any warning from linkedin. So I want to know how much is too much on linkedin.

How many connections can I have in total?
How many new connections can I make everyday?
How many groups can I join maximum?
When one is considered spamming in linkedin?

Please help.

Thank You

Linkedin has a maximum connection limit of 30,000 connections and 3,000 invitations. With the groups, I think it's 50 to 100 groups. Just remember to use your linkedin as natural as possible so that you won't get flagged.

Let me rephrase that for you:

How many connections would I normally have in total, after X days?
How many new connections do I make every day, on average?
How many groups did I join?
When would I think of a user's posts as spam in linkedin?

Those should answer your question :) Their bot detection is trained by regular usage, so use that as your starting point for determining your activity. And make sure to fluctuate it! No-one adds exactly 5 users every day, or joins 2 groups every day :)

This method has been tested by myself and others. It is a useless endeavor. Your new network is not only not organic but they don't engage as they have no connection to you in real life nor do they want to. Building up "real" yet non-engaging followers on linkedin is similar to getting 100 likes on IG with a 1mil account.

The real question is, why hasn't someone, aside from Candice Galek, spammed LinkedIn with NSFW-ish type content? Shock factor will get you noticed and a few shock bots will surely help engagement and stirring up some heated discussions. Candice made her career much like Liltay did on Instagram. She shows off her assets and those of others to market a Bikini business enough so that she got onto Forbes' 30 under 30 list.

Now that's a much better strategy and one worth exploring!

What are your goals at first? Growing your network only?
Maybe you dont want people that you dont know, otherwise you are a LION (Linkedin Open Networker) looking for business?
Thats the first step. Why do you want to join plenty of groups? For spamming daily or for really reading and interacting?
