how much does domain age affect rankings?

i've been trying to rank a brand new domain locally, but so far no luck. here's some data:

- i'm trying to rank for 3 kws, according to traffic travis the comps are easy, easy, and relatively easy
- the average pr is 1 and the average backlinks page(BLP) is 30 but the average backlinks(BLS) to site is in the millions
- i don't know how to check the domain age but i'm pretty sure they are well aged
- my domain is brand new
- i have almost 200 backlinks to the site in the past month or so and now i'm on page two. i've checked to make sure that i have good on page seo.

what are my options? should i:
a - buy some high pr domains and link to it?
b - rank a web2.0 instead and redirect to domain later?
c - build more backlinks?

It's pretty important. To be honest you shouldn't be back linking at all on a brand new domain.Think of it like this.
1 - 3 months: Nothing is passed, no juice, no rank, nothing.
3 - 6 months: You're being watched, kinda like a probation phase.
6 - 12 months: Naturally build links.
1 - 2 years: Welcome to your authority stage.
2+ years: Start back linking your website to hit he #1 spot.
There are a tonne of things you need to think of when doing SEO.

thanks for the reply. i was operating under the assumption that local seo wouldn't be hit as hard with the updates compared to global seo. turns out i'm wrong. so is there no such thing as ranking a brand new domain apart from blackhat churn n burn?

Yeah basically. Although I wouldn't recommend doing a churn n burn on a new domain either. You're better off buying a cheap expired domain name.
