It would be interesting to know the earnings of these 2 sites. They have so much content and keywords ranking in top 10.

Also, how much would they have invested over time to set the sites up?

Does it make sense to build something similar?

They earn $110,445.65 a month and i am sure they invested like $$$$$ in content and SEO shit.

I like those review site - they can make money through affiliate. Sponsored post etc. Let say they want to post about 10 best headphones, so they can contact any headphone supplier to monetize on their site (maybe rank higher on that list).

We just hired an SEO here at work that was doing SEO one of those sites. They basically have a full staff of markers, so it is safe to assume they are making a good amount of money to handle that salary overhead. It is a very competitive and costly niche but seems profitable.

These are the sites that you'll struggle to compete against.

Wirecutter is another example, it's owned by the NY Times, so think of the money they have behind them. They're also contributing editors on Engadget, so think of the traffic and juice from each article on there. ( engadget.com/about/editors/the-wirecutter/ )

How would you possibly know how much they earn?

Why would anyone tell you?

How would you possibly know how much they have spent?

Why would anyone tell you?

I think most of the amazon affiliates sites being made by BHW members would be competing against them. But I think if you create something that big with a long-term view then you might be able to compete against them in my opinion, not for all keywords but for quite a few of them.

Someone in here might have a friend of a friend working there. Also might have come up sometimes on the web.

From my experience, Yes because you have amazon affiliate links on your site you would be directly competing with them, but if you pick your keywords correctly. Write your articles around your keywords to drive traffic to y our site. You should be fine. I don't really think how saturated any niche is anymore is really a factor, its truly depends on how well you pick your keywords. Like, Think about it this way, if you can rank like 10 articles for keywords that searched for 1,000 times a month in top 3. Thats roughly 10,000 pages views. Obviously all 10,000 won't click on your site, but i think you get the picture. :P

Exactly my point. I will not be competing against anyone.
