This topic is much more nuanced than the definition of an account with “existing history” might suggest. Based on all the data they have on you, Google assesses and manages the level of risk you represent according to its own interests. Therefore, advertising spend alone isn’t enough.
In fact, accounts whose advertising spend dates back a while, and which isn’t connected to the same original billing profile, can still suffer from silent spending limits (separate from the famous $2 limit shown in the dashboard). This is precisely part of how Google manages the level of risk associated with the actor you represent to its services.
If you want to run on accounts with existing history, make sure to ask the seller whether they have removed this limit, and how much they spent per day during the warm-up campaign. $2/day during warm-up isn’t enough. You need more—not necessarily to build more trust, but because a spending limit around that level is precisely within the range of a potential silent spending limit on your account, even though that limit increases over time as you continue running ads. Therefore, you can’t really know whether the account has a limit or not.
Finally, I’d say that, ultimately, almost any account can work for you. What will really make the difference is the quality of the assets you use, combined with proper warm-up on both Google and Google Ads (yes, even on Google itself) before launching.
