Hi, recently i start doing SEO for 4 sites. I'm making the diagnosis for those sites, meanwhile, i have to determine how much will charge my client for this job.
So the question is, how much do you charge for SEO?
thanks in advance

Neomessiah,

While I don't do SEO work directly, I know some that do and their fees vary. For instance I know one person who is a freelancer. He does SEO work as more of a side deal. He is talented and charges around 40 dollars an hour for his work. On the other hand I know people who do this kind of thing in an agency capacity full time and their fees are much higher (somewhere in the neighborhood of 100 to 150 dollars per hour). Further, I have spoken with some agencies that won't even talk to you if you aren't spending at minimum 3,000 dollars per month.

Really what you charge will depend on your level of expertise as well as who your clients are. If you are working for small business owners or individuals, (and you are good at what you do) you may want to keep your price point lower (perhaps in the 30-60 dollar per hour range). If your clients are larger, (and you are good at what you do), you may be able to command higher fees.

If you are just starting out and these are your first clients, I wouldn't charge them that much. Not only are you getting paid but you are building a name for yourself. Once you have the name (and it's a good one) then you can start charging the big bucks.

Here is a pretty comprehensive post on SEOMoz about what agencies are charging. Perhaps it can give you some ideas,

Hope that helps,

This is quite a difficult one!

SEO Starts at as low as $20 ( even at $5 at fiverr) and I have seen people spending thousands of dollars every year for SEO...so its very hard to make a statement on this.

You should calculate your worth by your self...

It depends on the provider and quality of links. For instance, I offer two types of SEO, one is $99 which involve the basic link building for starters less competitive sites and $600 to $5000 per month depending on the site. Porn sites is usually more expensive to work on.

Its Depend Your Site Keywords ,If Your Site Keywords High Your SEO Prices Will Be High ,If Your Site Keywords Low SEO Charge Low .SEO Charge Depend on Keywords .

I charge between 500,-? and 6.000,-? per month. But "sunseooffer" is right. Its depend on Keywords, Competition and and and. I do SEO for german clients like Insurance companies, restaurants and car dealer.

you can charge monthly $200-250$ for 1 website SEO and provide best services to you client.....Good Luck...Thxx

The price you charge should be based on the value of service you are offering to the client. It also depends on your qualifications and ability to deliver. Also, the speed you can deliver at seriously effects pricing.

If you're just getting started be reasonable with your rates and focus on building your client base. I'm not saying charge pennies, but you can't exactly justify charging hundreds of dollars an hour until you can demonstrate the value of your services to the client.

The company I work for typically charges between $100-150 per hour. I think for most SEO work, depending on the level of experience, $50-150 is pretty much the ballpark.

No clear answer for you but some suggest now. Finding a good provider, maybe get the trial and start processing. Checking ranking daily/weekly for your sites and you can take lot time to invest in this work. You know that SEO need time. It depends on your sites and also your provider's plan.

Thanks for your words, this week should i determine the final price, i'll tell you how this story ends

If you want a good idea look at what your competitors are charging.

If these are offline customers than look at the prices of SEO services here and add 50-200% to the price if you're doing the same services.

If you're in the US you might be able to get $400-$650 a month for SEO if you're using mostly tools to do it. If you're manual creating fake sites, etc then it can be sky high though.

Outside the US I'd say perhaps 1/2 to 2/3 of that... this is all just based on my experience.

I run a small SEO firm and I initially charge a flat fee of $495 to mainly ensure that I'm only dealing with serious clients. That payment in general goes towards me looking at the site they want to rank (i.e. on-page SEO evaluation), what KWs they want to or should be ranking for, and what the competition is (off-page SEO evaluation). From there, I charge low end $1000 (local business SEO) and high end $10,000+ (extremely competitive KWs) per month. Good luck with your company!
