Lets say I have a do-follow link from BBC.com to my homepage, how much difference will it have on my keyword rankings?

I know, I am asking how much difference will it make?
 
So, will a link from bbc.com to my homepage be better than a bbc.com link to a post page?
 
All back links really do is improve your status to google. You will become an authority site when you get a lot of good backlinks. That one link will make little or no difference.
 
would 5-10 links from sites like bbc.com and forbes.com make a significant difference?
 
1000 to 2000 links from all different top ranking authority sites will make a difference.

depending on your niche... but in general, yes this would do the trick for low and some medium competitive niches

edit: if you have a nice backlink profile already, these could make the difference.

I recently tried it myself to rerank two sites of mine, the hq links i bought had some serious impact on the serps

nonetheless, I also had some nice improvement by using low quality links on another site as well but I dont think that these will help much in the long run

Sure it may help a little. You are not going to make more money from this petty amount of back links. Instead of wasting your time asking questions on here, focus on your SEO. Buy some FB ads. Your little 1 to 5 backlinks is nothing.
 
Nope they won't. You'll need 100 - 1000 links use pbns

Try to build up a few hundred links from different domains, that have good metrics and are relevant to your site. That WILL make a difference.
