how much content should web 2.0 blog have?

are a few posts enough or do you add content to it all the time?
I am not sure how much work I should invest in my web 2.0 blogs

The more content the better and its believed consistently adding new content helps you in the eyes of G. So add all the content you can, as consistently as you can.

so this means I have to maintain tens of sites? how do people do it?

Having 3-5 minimum pages on each would make good sense .

300_500 words would seem alright as well.
 
Few posts are enough. I usually go for 5-10 posts (400-500 words each one).
 
Give one about us page, one privacy police, one contact us page. And give 5 generic articles.
 
If you want to pass a manual review, then just put enough content on it to make it pass a manual review.

If you don't care about passing a manual review, throw up some spun garbage.
