How much coffee do you drink?

None at all. Coffee reminds me of work. I drank far too much of it at my old desk job.

I drink a lot of energy drinks though so it probably doesn't make much difference.

I understand.

My problem isn't drinking too much coffee.

My problem is...

1) Repeatedly microwaving the shit out of my coffee. I'll sip on 1 cup from noon to 8pm (normally). It generally takes 1/2 hour to cool down. At which point the flavor changes, I can't sip anymore so I reheat it. So technically I'm microwaving the same cup of coffee 12-16 times / day. And by the end of the day so much burns to the side of the cup I usually dump half of it out.

2) Sipping. I have to sip really slow. This started after I got clean from speed. For a good 3-4 years my body couldn't handle any type of stimulant at all. If I drank coffee back then my whole body would shake, I'd start twitching, many times it would trigger panic attacks. Same thing with tea except tea wasn't as bad. So after 4 years or so I noticed I could sip my tea real slow without that happening. Then later I changed from tea to coffee and started sipping more for the flavor and psychosomatic effects. And that weird habit has lasted till this day.

All in all I only drink about 1/2 a cup a day. But my concern is because I'm heating it so much and sipping so much that my teeth are gonna turn brown. So what I do is keep luke warm water nearby. I rinse my mouth as often as possible, try to chew on carrots or something and brush 3 times / day. So far my teeth are still pretty white. But they're not glowing white like they use to be. And OTC teeth whiteners make my teeth sensitive. Peroxide doesn't but it does seem to do much. So I'll likely get them whitened professionally then just find something else to drink.

What would be REALLY COOL is if someone invented "bleached coffee". Seriously. They did it with flour which is yellow by adding calcium peroxide. If the issue with coffee is that it takes too much peroxide too bleach (which can't be removed) I'm sure you could run it under intense UV light or bleach it another way. Then possibly add some water soluble brown "dye" that can't stain the teeth. If someone invented something like this you could prob make a fortune.

Try drinking coffee (cold or luke warm, NOT hot) through a straw. It helps keep it off your teeth. If the "upper" aspect of coffee bugs you though maybe you should consider tea. Less caffeine.

I never reheat coffee, I think drinking hot is the best.
The hotter my coffee is the better I think it is.

I normally have a cup each day but trying to cut back, now I have it 1-2 times a week :D

I'm probably in the minority - I don't drink coffee at all.

Can I ask why you drink coffee?

Cos if it's to amp your energy levels, your best off drinking it in a different way or eating other things.

EG. Using it together with cinnamon, coconut oil, spirulina, etc (just use the big G for recipes)

OR
do as I do, and start your day with a green soup!

I basically make a miso soup base and add all types of greeny goodies leafy veggies (watercress, spinach, seaweed etc), ginger, garlic and puree it!
Add some shoyu or tamari sauce, and Voila! Instant energizer right there :)

It takes a little getting used to but once you are, you absolutely love it!

You can add rice to it aswell to thicken it up!

Let me know :)
