Hello all, i have a question winch is how many times should i repeat the keyword in the same article is 3-5 times in a 500 words ok ? and should i use "tags" of the same keyword or is it bad for SEO ?
thanks

2 Maximum in Content ,

First would be on the First paragraph in the Article and second would be any other in the article.

If you are using Wordpress download the Yoast SEO free plugin. It has a keyword density function.
In case you don't about 2-2.5% keyword density.
And i wouldn't really worry about tag naming.

A quote from the guide of @phpbuilt describes it perfectly. If it isn't broke, don't fix it. So I guess I am sticking to what works for me.

That's fine, but it's well known that using Yoast for optimal densities will lead to overoptimization overkill.

If you have one primary, non-long-tailed keyword, apply 1% keyword density.
If it's a long-tailed one, go with 0.50% density.

If you have secondary keywords other than your primary keyword, mention your secondary keywords 1 to 2 times.

Strike a good balance between on-page SEO and the added value that your content will bring to your readers.

Wrong and wrong and wrong and wrong.

Here is a guide made by @phpbuilt about KW densities. Read it 20 times and apply it. It's pure gold - https://www.sendspace.com/file/3nbwpq

Wow.. that is very, very good guide. I had a blast reading it. I guess I'm going to have to re-work my sidebars tonight

You can repeat the same keyword for maximum 2 to 3 times in the 500 words article will be okay if it is a short term primary keywords. If it is a long term keyword then you should use it for only one time. But you have to concentrate on keyword velocity which help you to make clear about how and where we use the keywords in the article.

content of 500 words you could put 5 times without fear of the google sandbox.
but you only need 3
1/ In header
2/ In content
3/ Last word in content
this has always got my site into top 3 position SERPS
hope this helps Keep it simple, when i first stated seo i set up a site just to test what works, ans how many keywords add up to spam, but the truth is google just loves quality original Content using 1 2 3 above i have ranked on page one in one day
Hope this helps and goog luck to you

I would advice the same.

Use it once in title. Better if you start your title with the keyword.

And 2-3 times max in article.

Also dont forget to add keyword in meta description.

And how exactly would you like to use Yoast without Wordpress?

for the SEO starters I'd advice them all in one seo and use the phpbuilt mentioned tools or tools.seobook.com/general/keyword-density/ and keep 2word under 1,5% and offpage EMAs = 0%.

or use plain html. solves 2000% of problems.

Search for your target keywords. Take the top 10 sites and check their kw density. Copy their density.

that will work in a "webmaster guideline" perfect world. as soon as they got some links with anchors, it will ripp the % apart..

Obviously we're just isolating one on-page factor here. I'm not saying they'll rank just because they've copied the others' %'s. You're right about the off-page SEO, namely links.

Do remember that most SEO plugins only calculate keyword density in the post content, not the overall page.

So if you have breadcrumbs, menu links, or "recent posts" widget, you may want to take note if those have your keywords too as it would inflate your keyword density very easily. You can always counter them easily by browsing the plugins section. For instance, "Recent Post - Extended" has a feature that excludes the current post, thereby reducing the keyword's density.

Image alt tags may or may not play a role too.
