Because I like to dig deep into things, here is my observation to how fast you can write (content) as a function of few things. I hope at least some of you bother to read this lol.
First and foremost:
How much you need to write?
It was Twain i believe who said:
"If you want me to give you a two-hour presentation, I am ready today. If you want only a five-minute speech, it will take me two weeks to prepare"
That is why we sometimes call writers or content here on BHW "low-quality", because it was formulated for 10 minutes, with no research, in one go, without looking at it afterwards, merely striving to hit the certain number of words needed.
Anyway. I would tie the speed of your writing with few things:
1. Your wit and intelligence.
Some of us tend to think quicker, compose our thoughts faster and formulate argumantes better than others, the more eloquent you are, the faster you will write. It also depends if it is your native language or not in which you are writing.
2. Your expertise.
The better you are familiar in the domain in which you write, you are probably be able to extract thoughts and ideas faster than someone who is not sufficient in that niche. (it can be called EAT in our context)
3. The depth in which you write.
If you want to hit deep and thorough on the subject, you will probably need more research, you will prpbably have more trouble with finding information and sources to the informatuon yoh are looking for.
4. If you improve your content after finishing the first draft.
Generally speaking, like you do tour process of thinking, then translating it to words, there is a filter that filters your thoughts and organizes them into the content you write.
If i decide to make a second edit, a third edit, a fourth edit, read my article again and again I will find faults in it and I will fix them. The greatest books (mainly nonfiction) written in history were released in new editions over the years, sometimes over 11 editions. Because you van always improve.
5. The size of the subject/topic.
If you need to cover a lot of the matter in the domain in which you're writing, it probably will make you focus better and write more, become more knowledgable, and write faster.
6. Most writers just write whats on their mind, they put it down on the paper, they have ideas, they instantly put them into the paper, then they process them into bits of content. Eminem once showed he had piles of textbooks full with lyrics. Artists tend to instantly go to the canvas and paint once an idea strikes them.
P.S: take for exampls my comment, it took me around 10 minutes to compose it. I could just gibberish out some stuff and hit post, but I didn't.
