I'm planning on starting an AdSense blog, writing around 500 words an hour is doable?
before applying for Adsense I'd like to get around 30k words in maybe less.

500 words per hour? I think it depends on how many hours a day you plan on working. Tbh if you write good content, it's really hard to exceed 2K words a day unless you have a way with words (some people do and can write a lot). It is kind of a stretch though. Do yourself a favor, rather than worrying about the word count focus on answering the search query better than your competition, as thoroughly as possible. This will help you rank for longer. Don't look at what big authorities are doing, they can get away with shit content. Often people copy the bigger sites in their niche without realizing that their 'SEO Power' lets them get away with subpar content.

Agree with @DeadJoe 's points.

...and moreover, if you still need to put a lot of content in your site then I suggest, do not write all by yourself. You will get tired, may end up producing poor quality content not well researched, sometimes may also not be able to write anything at all!

Outsource writing tasks to any good writer from third world country. It will be more cost effective for you. You will get plenty of time to focus on other aspects of promoting your site.

Many lesser known or unpublished writers who blog claim word counts anywhere in the range of 500 to 3000 words a day with 1000 being the average. A few writers claim to produce between 4000 and 10,000 words per day.

20k per day is what you can do in easy niches.

If you have something difficult to write about, I wouldn't expect more than 4k words doing it full time.

If you have no knowledge about something, you will struggle to get any amount of content.

If I am genuinely interested and informed about the niche it takes me up to 4 hours to produce 3000 words of, what I judge, decent quality content.

Tools like Geammarly help me not worry about typos, and I turn on the premium features in the end, and make around 30-40% of the suggested changes. I personally ignore passive voice warning (would like to hear others opinion on this)

Additionally, what speeds up the process is setting up in advance the headings and roughly planning how much content I want in which part of the article. This makes it a lot easier to edit later on.

Honestly, for an article that requires research, 1000 words per hour is the bare minimum. But you should still be somewhat familiar with the topic. Otherwise there's no point writing about it.

That's what leads to burnout. You can't expect to write thousands of words a day (consistently) about something you're not interested in.

that depends on how well you know the topic and if there is any deep research invovled.

It's all depends on what niche you are working, it's better to go slowly and write the good content, blogs will need good content.

For fiction I can do 10k words per day and this is after two weeks to a month of heavy research and plotting.
For article writing researching, planning and outlining takes me a whole day. I like to take my time.

500 words is easy if you just write whatever you have in your mind. But if you have to dig in some research and reviews, 500 words a minute is a bit hard.

500 words per hour is minimum. Try to increase 1000 words per is worthy if you are in fluency to that topic

yes, you can write 1-3k/hr on common niches.

If we're talking about writing only, like drafts. I can write 3000 to 5000 words per day. But that doesn't mean they are all good to publish. As a content writer myself, I struggled a lot with writing more words per day. At first, I was writing like 500 to 700 words a day. Now I write around 1500 to 2000 words max. Usually, more than 50% of my time goes into research, 20% time into writing the first draft, 15% time into rewriting, and rest of the time into editing, proofreading, Grammarly check, and plagiarism check.

A tip for new writers: if you're struggling with writing more words and stuck at a blank screen thinking you hit writer's block. No. The actual problem is — You didn't read enough on the topic. Put more time into research, and read more articles related to your work. The more you read, the more your brain congregates similar information to produce. If you don't know a topic well, how can you expect your brain to spit-out words?
