there's no written in stone density, but less than 5% is recommended although, preferably, 1-2%. So, every 1000 words the keyword should appear maximum 10-20 times. But if you asked me even 20 times is a lot. Just write for your audience and if it makes sense to insert the keyword 20 times do it, but otherwise try to find synonyms or to write in such a way that you don't overuse the keyword. Imagine that you're writing to impress your college professor to pass an exam or something.

Check what the top 3 websites are doing. Google is telling you what it likes already in the serps.

in my opinion, you should use your main keyword as follows
  • at least once in the title element of the page.
  • at least once in the headline.
  • two to three times in the content.
  • one time in the meta description.

Hello buddy, there is not exact definition on number of keywords.
Its better to use limited quantity within 10 counts or else, it seems like stuffing your content with keywords.
Also, you can use LSI keywords as it helps you in different ways.

I have sites that rank with stuffed keyword articles, and slim keyword articles. Don't ask me I have no idea! :D

10-20 times is 10-20% per 1k words mate :)
I guess you mean 1 or 2 times per 1000 words

Also once in an image, provided you're not keyword stuffing into a 300 word article.

Few times (2-5) is usually enough, try to have it on the H2's or if possible H1, don't ABUSE it. seriously, if you 'need' to use it again - do so, it would be good. but if you can't and you're forcing it - that won't do any good.

Guys Please Answer
your problem is likely quality and authority.

Your Primary keyword should be:
- your metadescription
- in your title
- in the first paragraph of your content
- used for one of your pictures
- in one of your headings (can't overdo this)
- mentioned NATURALLY In your content

Set the right context by using LSI keywords

But your whole process must be SEO driven - see this process play out when scraping your existing competitors: https://www.blackhatworld.com/seo/methods-for-cloning-scraping-a-website.1321596/#post-14299597

1) Search for desired kw
2) Open top 3 results (after you skip the 5+ spammy ads at the top)
3) Count how many words they use = words
4) Count how many times the kw shows up = kwords
5) Do kwords / words math
6) Apply same math to your targeted article.

It mostly depends on length of the content. It would be 3 to 8 keywords approximately. But split them as per primary, secondary and long tail keywords. Those keywords should be naturally inserted in the content.

It depends on your content length, if you are writing content of 500 words then it is good idea to use keyword at least 5 to 6 times in each paragraph. if you are writing a long blog of 1500 words then you can use your keyword accordingly.
