Hey guys,

Quick question for those who are actively building links right now. If you're starting a fresh site in a medium competition niche — how many PBN links does it typically take to see real movement?
From what we've been testing recently:
  • 10–15 links - first signs of movement
  • 30–40 links - landing on page 2
  • 50+ links - breaking into top 10 (varies by niche)
Most of the links were from restored domains with actual history behind them. Curious what numbers other people are seeing in their current tests. Drop your experience below.

Depends on the PBN really.
Is your PBN indexed? Are the articles coherent with your links?

There’s no fixed number honestly, I’ve seen pages move with 5–10 strong PBN links if the domain and anchors were clean.

Those numbers align with what I see on medium comp niches. Quality of the restored domains matters more than raw count though, 20 solid links beats 50 weak ones every time.

There is no fixed number of PBN links required to see results because it depends on the niche, competition level, link quality, and overall site strength. In some cases, 10–20 high-quality links may start showing movement, while 30–50 or more may be needed to reach page two or break into the top 10 in medium competition niches. However, results can vary significantly, and quality, relevance, and authority matter much more than just the number of links.

numbers like that can vary a lot tbh, it’s not just about how many PBN links you push.
i’ve seen sites move with way fewer links when the domains were highly relevant and clean, and others need way more when the niche is tougher or the anchors/velocity weren’t right. restored domains help, but quality and context matter more than raw count.
also if you rely only on PBN links, movement can be unstable. mixing in some diversified backlinks usually makes rankings stick better instead of jumping then dropping.

I'm agree. We see the same pattern: 5-10 links from truly authoritative domains always outperform 20-30 links from mediocre ones. The culprits are usually forced anchors, high growth rates, or domains that have been rebuilt too often. As for old and new domains, older ones tend to hold up better, especially if their link history is clean. Newer domains can work too, but they take longer to prove themselves and are more vulnerable to instability in the first few months.

What is your typical process for vetting old domains before using them?

Per Day: 3–5 high-quality backlinks; Per Week: 15–30 backlinks. Avoid spammy or bulk link-building,
