You can use 3 to 5 keywords, place it naturally and it should make sense with the article.

As expected you are getting diversified numbers suggested...
Try to go for a main longtail keyword and make yourself a list of other useful keywords in the article.
Do not write to use the keywords but use a few where you feel they fit in swiftly with what you're writing around that longtail one.
You will end up with an article containing a natural selection of keywords
