How many hours SEO work is required?

I am working on a seo of a website but unable to give much time on it because of my other online work which is also very important. So i am curious to know how many hours you work on your main site in a day to get the decent result and what different strategy you use.

i use some tools for creating links so not much but i end up spending a lot of time on perfecting on-page aspects and finding more expired content to use

maybe a few hours a day spread out for a couple sites

About the same as above, but my day job is working in my business. I spend a couple hours a day working on it. More if I'm writing an article.

I spend most of my time doing SEO. But before i make sure the website is fully optimized

PBN or web 2.0 ...
Most of the time my VA handle that

I spend a lot of time on SEO to provide backlinks.

On a serious note, it depends on your niche and competition, the answers you will get will not help you.

Outsource the most simple tasks and handle everything about strategy, finding a good VA is another story... Honestly, if you really want to outsource, you should hire an IRL guy and see him at least 2 days a week.

What is 51.3 you are referring to?

I know everyone has a different niche but at least it gives you a rough estimate of it. Especially when you don't have much time to invest only on SEO or if there is any good strategy different from others, would love to hear about that.

Do you do everything by yourself or outsource something?

Is it giving you good results?

Not a great deal, in all honesty. I'm constantly monitoring how my sites are doing but I outsource my content writing and off page SEO work. Probably 2-3 hours a day.

How many hours of training do I need everyday?

Depending what you are trying to achieve.

I will say 2 hours a day are enough for one site. You must need to know what is link building and what are different sort of links and their benefits.
SEO for ranking is a different thing , then SEO for traffic from the beginning. Even if you work manually there is no guarantee that site will not be penalized, so it is better to work on the backup strategy at the same time.

In addition to this manual work should be backed by automated work then only I guess results will be super fruitful.

I'm a control freak, so I do everything myself. All my own marketing on and offline. I'm also former IT with a degree in it, so I really enjoy this stuff. I'm like a sugar addict in a candy store with site SEO, technical SEO stuff, video SEO, etc.

I've only been at this about 4 years now and really focused on it less than two years. I followed some marketing people who are focused on my industry, but didn't get results. Found this site about a year ago and have been changing up my focus based on what I'm learning here and on the aHref's blog. The hard part is adapting what I learn to something that you can't just click on and buy.

Working now on building authority blogs and working on EAT type stuff. I'm starting to see some results there. I have one blog ranking in the top 5 for three or four long tail search phrases and even #2 for a couple more. I'm seeing minimal traffic, but it's more than I typically saw in a year before! I'm a big fish in a small pond. Currently in the larger pond I want to be in, I'm ranking in the 20s and 30s, which is up from "not in the top 100" a month before. Also been able to increase my DA with competitive research into backlink profiles of my competition. I know it's a long haul game, but I'm enjoying it. Like the Project 24 guy, I do get a thrill from seeing the traffic spike. Just implemented social sharing and (moderated and spam protected) commenting for the articles.

Nice to hear that you are doing everything by your own, because i see lot of people outsource content part or buy backlinks from the industry guru's to get good results. I am sure if you are confident in something then you can do by your own.

What backlinks or strategy you find most effective for you?

Is commenting on articles a good approach for new website. As per i know i think its blackhat hat or grey hat approach. Did you find this effective for your website?

I never really had much of a "strategy" when I started. This site is about 20 years old, so I have a ton of backlinks from directories and all sorts of places like that as well as several industry related sites that I couldn't recreate today. Back then Google was barely launched and Yahoo! Search and Ask Jeeves were the big players and exact match domains and meta tags were the SEO world. When I got back to building the SEO of this site a couple years ago, I didn't know about stuff like parent/child or parasites, let alone multi tiers or web2 PBNs. I was basically just doing competitive research on those that out ranked me and recreating what they had. I did this simply because it's what people teach in the corporate world (where I had spent the prior 15 years) for how to grow your business or just about anything in general. I also had found mailing list that sends out 5 do-follow forums a week where you can create high DA ******** profile links. Only downside is that they are all over the map as far as what type of industries they are in. I have one from a 4x4 offroad HAM radio forum as just one example... and it points to a real estate site! Only connection to my site is that I'm a HAM radio operator.

Now I'm still doing competitive research, but I'm also getting into the expired domain redirects (@jefis is your go-to guy for those) as well as web2 PBNs. I'm also finding a TON of places to create quality links here as well. As I said previously, I'm also creating content based on what people are searching for.

As far as commenting on articles goes, I do this and have gotten good links from it as well as brand exposure (I comment as my company/site name). As to what color hat I'm wearing when I do this, 99% of the time I'm wearing a "White Hat" because I'm commenting on blogs related to my industry and usually published by industry trade unions and training centers. My comments *USUALLY* get approved, unless the moderator doesn't like what I have to say (which does happen since I'm not always "politically correct"). I have made some comments on totally unrelated sites while wearing my black hat and duplicating high DA (90+) backlinks that people who (used to) outrank me had.
