How many days it will take to learn video editing ?

Agreeing with @Colonel Potter on copying winners, but to add to that... instead of editing random stuff, go rip some popular podcast audio. throw it into capcut and try to force yourself to add a visual cut, zoom, or b-roll every 2 to 3 seconds. thats the retention hack right now. you can grab free b-roll from pexels or pixabay so you dont have to shoot anything. learning the software is easy but training your brain to keep the viewer from scrolling is where the money is.

skip premiere pro at the start... it just slows you down. grab capcut desktop because the auto captions and built-in transitions save hours. if you want to learn pacing fast, download 5 viral shorts in your niche, drop them into your timeline, and cut your own footage to match their exact cuts frame by frame. teaches you pacing way faster than any generic tutorial.

You can learn the basics in a week or two if you practice daily. Start with cuts, pacing, audio, subtitles and simple transitions before touching fancy effects.

CapCut or DaVinci Resolve is enough to start.

tbh just grab davinci resolve since the free version is insanely powerful. capcut is fine for quick shorts but if you actually want to learn the craft properly its better to start with a real timeline... saves you having to relearn everything later on.

Basically learning anything depends upon you that how much time you give it and how much practice you do. Its true that video editing is very necessary these days to get viral or get reach and engagement. So leaning a video editing gain time the more time you give to video editing tool more you learn about them and I think it will never end because with the passage of time new tools and software will discovered and you have to experience them. So I suggest you to first you have to decide why you want to learn video editing then choose a software and start learning it through youtube tutorials or physically by tutors and practice it be more better in it.
