How many backlinks per day is too much?

Backlinks are dangerous now. Penguin has changed everything. The simple answer to your question is "1". 1 backlink a day is one too many, especially if you are new. There are many "SEO's" that are still trying to use the old (meaning 4 month old) methods that have killed thousands upon thousands of websites since Penguin. You are staggering around in the post-apocalyptic Penguin wasteland. The old world is dead, and now we are killing people in order to steal their gasoline. Some of Penguin's punishments are permanent; the Nuclear Option of Mutually Assured Destruction. Some businesses are still selling spam backlinks, and some innocent & virginal newbs are still buying them. Fresh meat. Warm and fleshy chickens with hot and nutrient-rich blood offering money to pay for their own plucking. Standing in the middle of a diseased and decaying landscape, populated by the bodies piled high upon one another, all dead from exposure to radioactive material, you are wondering how much Plutonium 239 is safe to ingest.

this is one of the best posts I have ever read.

Just create 3-4 backlinks both anchor text and signature every day are enough for a new site.

Actually there is no specific number. but I think the number should not be like which is impossible for a human. Remember this thing. then it will be totally OK.

For new site create around 30-50 links of tier 1,after that 20-30 of tier 2 and tier3

for old website build 30-40 links daily and use as many anchor text as possible and inner page links too...

All links must be niche-related. No need for huge backlinks each day. Google will somehow will penalize you that way. Try creating a normal back linking method to about 20 links a day. This will greatly help your site.

I'm sorry if this thread has come up before, but I've read somewhere that if too many backlinks are built too fast, google will see it as un-natural and that can damage the site rankings.

So my question is: how many backlinks per day, in your opinions, are too much for a new site, compared to a site that's been up for, lets say, a year or 2? Does the anchor text play a part of the number of backlinks that can be built without being penalized?

I'd appreciate any answer. I'm fairly new to SEO, and am thankful for the opportunity to learn something from the pros!

The Link velocity depends on your strategy.
And Don't build a lot of links
Build 10-15 links daily but Those should be quality links with low obl (out bound links)
Related Places where you build links
If you are submitting articles make sure your content is unique and readable.

I've had a site number 1 with less than 20 links. But then after recent updates it went to 2-3.

I understand quality over quantity, but with desperation article submission made over 400 plus links. My site doesn't any more rank as of today. lol. Will try to remove those links.

You don't need to build every time. Get Quality backlinks and you can rank. Just maintain it from time to time.

Another important in my opinion is to make sure you use proxies and different usernames for 1st tier or maybe even for other tiers. Use different variation of keywords. Number of links can be any number as long as they are not spamming.

The general consensus nowadays here on blackhatworld is : "whine whine, penguin, unique content, quality, bla, bla", where the fuck am I ? DP or WF?

There are ofcourse, still many different methods to ranking a site. From pure, hardcore, aggressive spam to slowly dripping out links.

Make multiple sites, try different things, it's the only way you will know for yourself.

Asking how many backlinks is too much is like asking how much vodka is too much. One can easily drink a liter and will be ok the next morning. Another one will die.

Of course backlinks are dangerous (like vodka), and their effect is obvious and pleasant (like vodka). But why can't you have 2 or more sites?

Build one "quality"/"authority" (whatever the hell it means) site and make safe backlinks from several high PR directories, press releases, bookmarks.
Build a second site with scraped/paraphrazed content and spam it with backlinks as a mofo.
Keep building shitty sites, spamming them with gazillions of backlinks, but never interlink them with the "quality" one.
Try different methods with cheapshit sites and observe the results. But keep the "quality" site 100% white hat.

Never carry the eggs in the single basket. The next google's "Polar Bear" update may kill any site for any reason. If your income depends on sites then differentiate. Use different hosting, use different platforms, use different internal structures, and different backlinking methods. This is the lesson I've learned from my own painful experience. When I concentrated all my efforts on a single successful site it got an "unnatural links" penalty cutting off all the income and almost making me a beggar. Don't make the same mistake. Learn from the other's experience.

Namaste and good luck

It's also very important to make the distinction between direct-links and tiered links...

You can build mountains of links per day (assuming you're doing things correctly in terms of diversity in anchor/IP/platform etc.) if you build deep/tiered links.

Sending masses of direct-links (1st tier) is obviously far riskier.

Tiered linking is a must now, and anyone just doing 1st tier is a step away from Google's hammer!

And, as everyone has said, link velocity is more important than ever.

Variability and no patters seems to work best. One day a more - one day less...
All from anyhting and also no-follow links

Has any of this change since this has been posted? I bought a service here on Black Hat World to get backlinks on Web 2.0, edu, social signals, foundation links, and 2nd tier. I asked for a drip feed of 30 days and it since been 15 days, and noticed seven backlinks to my money site.

I decided to do this because I noticed one of my competitor ranking for all my keywords is from 1st to 3rd on google and saw a lot of their backlinks seem similar to the ones I am getting. They also have other high quality backlinks, but as do I.

Any of your advice on this would be great. Thanks!
