How many articles do you think is enough for a new site? Each article would have atleast 500 words.

Just 1 article of 150 words will do the trick. Obviously if you want to be making over $10,000 per month then I suggest atleast 2 articles of 150 words.

Good question.
For a new site I would usually say 5 articles of about 500-1000 words. Make sure you get your keywords analyzed. From there you should be able to get alot more, then build at content based on keywords.

Lucasbraydon you forgot to mention that those 2 150 word articles should have a keyword density = 65% porn 25% pharma and the remainder just filler complaining about jock itch....

Add quality content daily to your site, this is a whitehat site after all. Do proper research and answer some question the searcher could have. Do research and write an article about the subject daily.
In time, as you track your traffic sources, keywords that landed them into your site and general site activity on each page/post, you'll get that magic number that you are searching for right now, but you must understand that there's no set amount of posts that you need to have, it all depends on so many factors that without letting us know your site (please don't, I don't have the time to help you that deeply and posting it here will be suicide for you) we'll never truly know.
Write as much as you can daily, based on a good research that answers a question the target audience is searching an answer for, analyze that data in a couple of months and you'll get to know how much you need to publish daily.

wow $10k monthly? nah not that good yet aiming low, looking to make around $9.5k monthly, hmmm 2 articles * 150 sounds abit much, you sure 60 words * 2 articles wont do the trick?

^^ THIS. I've just ranked a niche site page one with just 3 articles.
Now, sure I'll add more articles to increase the overall quality of the site, to help if it ever gets a manual review.
But there's no set number of articles needed to rank.

There is no limit for posting content on your moneysite and I suggest initial base you have to publish 10-15 articles with in month a but don't published all the content at a single time, publish it one by one or make it schedule and one more thing write fresh and high keyword stuff content and atleast for 300 words but if you do 500 words then its good for your site, and run social campaign for your money sites which generate targeted traffic.

As mancar487 says 5 should be the minimum you could publish daily and make sure with the quality of the articles as it should be well written & 100% unique. Btw, 500+ words per article is fair enough for new site IMO.

Enough for what? What's your goal? General rule is the most you post the more traffic you'll get evan with the slightest amount of keyword research. Long-tail keywords are king today.
I have a niche site that brings in about $1000 a month and my home page isn't even ranking for anything. It's all form long tail traffic to Amazon associates articles.
