I'm writing an e book and I was thinking a good price point is 12.95. But what do people expect for that price? 100 pages? 500 pages.

I guess it just depends on the subject but I would assume there is a minimum.

Im thinking mabe 30 to 50 pages. Is that not enough?

You can get non-fictional books cheaper than that, which have more than 300 pages.

I don't think quantity is the one important factor.

You should focus on promoting the value of your ebook and the brand.

For example, an ebook sold by a guru could get that price. So you have to look for angles and how to promote and make your ebook unique. Even if is 50 pages longs.

    hard to say
an ebook with 50 pages of actual worthwhile info still beats a 500 page of rubbish
which makes it harder to say since you don't get to read a extract or what not from the ebook to even know if it's worth your time.
    Hit or miss really.

50 is enough in my opinion. But to be honest I wouldn't bother writing ebooks.

Why do you say its not worth it?

Making money ideas always seem to sell, as do other topics.

number of pages does not matter at all. its all about the content. if you think you can give all the information in 3 pages, that is enough; given you can convince people it is worth whatever price you are charging.

because if it's just "ideas" and you have no "proof" to back any of your theories up
little 6 year old kids would just shitlist you and demand a refund and claim your ebook is full of shit.

By proof do mean that it works or that the ebook contains actual useful content?

Im selling real content. Its a method to make money offline. You wont get rich but it works everytime with almost no effort. A great way to get started.

Thats exactly how I plan to sell it. Being honest about what it is, not post pics of cars and mansions.

Have you looked at other ebooks in your niche? You have to at least match up to the expectations of your audience, and expectations vary.

It will be almost impossible to sell a fiction ebook at that price no matter how long it is, unless your name is JK Rowling. But if you can make a very compelling case that your book will make people hundreds of dollars then they will pay $13 in no time. Of course, you actually have to give them the sort of information that might make them that kind of money, or else in the end you're going to get some pretty bad blow back.

I wouldn't care if it was one sentence. If that one sentence could change my life or offer value to what I was looking for, then it was worth the $12.95. What you should be asking yourself is how you can include $12.95 worth of value instead of just making the book long enough to be worth that amount. The value is in the information you provide, not in the length.

Personally I don't care as long as it delivers what it claims it will deliver
A simple case of quality beats quantity

It can be due to various reasons.
listen dude, before you go ahead and change the topic 180 degrees
I am not doubting your writing abilities, nor am i doubting on your knowledge.
But there are quite shady people out there who would do anything for a buck.
Dragging you down and tainting your reputation is pretty much their pass-time.

Hence why i said, selling eBook is a great way to make money, ofcourse, but, you have to remember, there are buyers out there who want your shit for free.
So they will find ways to scam the shit outta you. They can make up any excuse as possible, and if your ebook isn't defined good enough, it can backfire upon you.
Also, since this is an ebook, it is done online, which makes it even more harder to back your claims up without solid earning reports, methods proven to succeed, theories proven to work. you aint selling "saturated methods" or "known methods"
If you are purely only selling knowledge and theories. Chances are, it be hard for you to win to even the worse case - you won't win.

IM change, the methods i do 4 years ago doesn't even make a dent nowdays.
hell, the things i do 6 months ago doesn't even work anymore.
Google is raping people left and right, daily a new SEO is dead thread pops up.

    But anyways, im blabbering on
best of luck if you decide to go through with it.

I don't believe in money making ebooks. If there is a working method described in an ebook it will get saturated/patched in no time. In best case scenario you add your own twist to it and make it work again.

If its a guide or something of like that - keep it short. 50 to 100 pages is enough.

I personally hate reading long books that describe unnecessary details

Why don't you write the book first, and when you finish it think about the value you are giving. And than give a reasonable price/value offer for it.

It isn't about length, it is about the quality of information.
If the value is there in the information then you can get away without filler content.

It's all about the subject and actual content.
For example, if your ebook has a solid method on how to make money (I mean really, not like 99% of alike books) it can be 20 or 10 or even 2 pages still it can cost lot more than 13$.
And everyone is so tired of those xx.95$ prices, everyone knows about them, just set 13$ and people won't feel you gonna fool them with an old trick (this is what I think about seeing those .95/99 prices).

You can buy reports that are 500 pages long and 20 pages contain the good stuff the rest is fluff, filler and affiliate links.

I'd rather get a 25 page report that has 20 pages of pure gold.

    Quality over quantity every time.
