Hello everyone

How long do you work on your link building strategies to see some solid rankings once you've started a new website ?

Mine over the past few years, I make websites, and do link building in first 1-2 months. and let the google do its job after that. But it didn't give the results I wanted.

What is your opinion about link building over the time, let's say first 1-2 years?

We need to continue some regular links with slow pace for new sites. Within 3-4 months we can expect some results. Also onpage optimization, good internal link structure plays major role. Every site won't respond same so link building strategies will vary for site to site. Based on rank improvements we need to plan the things accordingly.

For new sites, 2 months to see some movement and another 2 to be in the first 2 pages.

I have worked under many clients as VA, honestly learned different strategies of link-building from them. But they keep changing courtesy Google updates.
Link-building is a continuous process, its not limited to a period of time.

For new site it takes 3 to 6 months to be anywhere near 2nd or 3rd page depending on the competition of the keyword.
And link building has to be slow and quality at tier 1.

take forever these days 8 months normal.
6 months waiting to be indexed then 3 months waiting for links to be stuck.

the problem is you can submit best links in the world if they stick another issue.

After 6 months many keywords went from the 5/6 page to 2/3, i expect them to reach first page after about six more months.

I did not mean to say wait. But you are supposed to wait if you do not want to get penalized by Google on building rapid links or spammy links.
Treat them with tender and care them like small buddies at grown up stage.:D

Yes at first do some basic link-building in ordered to get your site indexed first, which should not be a problem.
As I said it depends on the quality links that you build at the Tier 1 and Tier 2.
If strategy is good, first page can be achieved under 3 months but it will be a risky thing to do if you are testing your strategy for first time.

Yes. It depends on Competition + Quality Links + Linking Strategy

I never expect anything at all in the first 3 months. Even with already reputed domains.

From my experience, results on this topic are full made of expectations which could be very deceiving and frustrating...

I don't know where I read this (somewhere in this forum), but when you work on SEO, always expect things to go 10 times worse than you though on first place. If you cannot afford this way, don't do it.

Purely depends on the competition of the keyword. Keyword research is still the most important aspect.
If you get it right, page 1 in 2 months with minimal backlinks for a brand new website.
If it's tough competition, months.

First month should go in on-page SEO work and link building results start after 45 days minimum..

nowadays it takes 1 year to rank well for medium difficulty keywords and we generally start link building after 3 months slowly and smoothly

Well said... I keep getting more downs than ups... it's part of the game... seo takes patience and discipline (even when the rankings turn south you should keep on working).

It takes minimum 3 to 6 months.
Depends on keyword competition, linking strategy and quality of links.
Do on page optimization and give the quality of unique content.

Usually 2 months, I've been working on this new business we put live January first and it's first page for one of its main keywords, and has like 7 other keywords ranked #10 - #13

3 months for Page one in everything usually.

I use constant guest posts by the way, and I build tiers for my guest posts of high quality links.

really depends on kw diffuculty.
In my experience between 6 - 12 months, depending on content and link quality
