How I went from $1.80/mo to $720/mo

Good idea, but do think it can work same wonders for everyone?

Yes its good man! Sign up I think it is definitely worth it! If you do sign up please mention me as it would be nice for the developer to know I love his vps solution!

He offers top customer service aswell :-)

Worth a go for $30 dollars!

exactly what I thought!

God, the performance on your VPS must be atrocious.

So someone got a server. Then installed XenServer or something. On top of that, they created a whole bunch of VPSes, one of which was sold to you. Then you took that VPS, running Windows of all virtualising software. You then ran HyperViz on top of that. Then you installed more Windows VPSes, and you sold them on.

Besides being totally unstable, the performance on your VPSs must be quite awful. Good luck when the whole setup starts wobbling, and you have a bunch of irate customers demanding refunds.

OP, unfortunately it is because of operations like yours that nobody has faith in small hosting firms.

On a more positive note though, learn some Sys Admin skills, and get your own dedicated machine. It will be more stable, faster, and more profitable than the setup you have now.

Just yesterday, I got a 16Gb, i7 2600 (quad core with Xeon like benchmarks), with XenServer, for just 50 euros (1st mth, 100 euros after), on a 100Mbs pipe, with unlimited traffic.

dude lets just say i own a xenserver, how do i set it up for hosting?

If you have XenServer, then you just need to create 1 or more Virtual Machines. Each virtual machine is effectively your VPS.

Here's a normal VPS solution
Hardware -> Virtualising solution thin layer -> VPS OS -> Web server

Here's what the OP has
Hardware -> Virtualising solution thin layer -> VPS OS -> An inefficient VM on top of OS -> VPS OS2 -> Web Server

And to top it all off, both his VPSs are windows *and* he is running Hypervisor!!! This is pretty much the worst choice you can make for a virtualising solution. No really. Both for stability and for performance.

Hypervisor is so bad that when VMs are being benchmarked, nobody even bothers. They just focus on Citrix and VMware, especially in a production machine.

@MetworldJohn ... While I don't want this to turn into a pissing contest, but with all the overprovisioning that goes on, plus the loss for every layer, all other things being equal, bare metal dedicated will outperform VPS in 99.999% of the time.

Thanks OP for the concept.

Hello judson - you have mentioned about getting a server with XenServer installed could you please guide me where to get the config that you have mentioned in one of your posts above. and can we do reselling by adopting the OP's concept

Thanks in advance.

For how long are you using vps's from BlackBoxRDP?
OK as there's no reply from OP (which would be something like few months), I'll just post domain whois.

http://www.whois.net/whois/blackboxrdp.com

As you can see, that domain is registered 15 days ago, so it's obvious that he's just promoting his own expensive hosting company (you can get dedicated with much better performance cheaper than his vps).

Also, Metworldjohn is probably fake account, as he's also intensively promoting that company in this thread...

BlackBox has been around for ages man, hosting companies diversify and monopolize more than you'd think. Probably just a fresh domain.

If it is the OP he's obviously running a Dedi. Not a VPS. Hyper-V wouldn't support more than 4 users on a 2GB box.. lol.

I checked out his posts and he does look like a newb. I highly doubt it's his. Honestly, I think he may just be sharing a hustle.. but who knows.

I'm in the market for a VPS myself, I'm going to cop one of these and report back and let you guys know what's up.

You Got it Gradimir! OP's Drama would've lasted longer if he said something like he bought Dedicated Server, Bla Bla Bla.... As a System Admin Myself I'd say Installing VPS over VPS won't even work in Dream cos the Host's System(VPS) itself is already too low in resources.

Metworldjon, You want me to Believe What you Say!? I bet you're a Utter Liar!

I think both eastwick (OP) and Metworldjon are same guy with 2 different BHW profiles.

Really depends on the specs of the Dedi. If you have a Dedi with 32 GB ram and 2 VPS's up on Hyper-V.

Each VPS would have 16 GB/ram to designate out to it's sub/Hyper-V VM's.

So the resources would be there, but yeah would def be slowed down a bit by the extra layer. Like you said - Adding another middleman in the mix.

But hey, it's BHW.... isn't that why we're here?

I just ordered one of these on a VCC, waiting to hear back. Once I'm on it I'm going to try this myself and see how it affects the speed and let you guys know.

I don`t know about you guy`s, but I surely read this thread on BHW around 2 months ago I think.

LMAO at the OP's "method".

Why hasn't BHW deleted this poorly disguised advertisement yet?

eastwick, if I contact them and say that I want to become their reseller, how much commission will I earn? Also, will they give me a discount coupon for my potential buyers? :D

Got the VPS up and it's running like a beast!

Chatted in with Support and they said they didn't support Hyper-V on anything other than their Dedicated Servers aka "Business Box"

Not sure if this is a hardware limitation of like @judson said.. or them just not wanting to mess with it. Either way this is one of the fastest VPS's I've ever used.. A+ Service and they even support ScrapeBox and other IM friend tools.

Anyhow, wouldn't recommend running / attempting to run Hyper-V on these VPS's.. would def need a dedi.. that's forsure.

LOL -Please point me to the place I can get a dedi @ $49/mo and I'll switch. Furthermore. How would I possibly host more than 4 people on one 2GB VPS... and expect then to sub-host under me? You obviously know nothing about networking... even less than I do and that's saying alot

Yeah.. I'm promoting my VPS service by giving my source away.. mk.

I don't even know this dude... ATTN MODS: please ban me now if I'm affiliated with this person whatsoever.. but I'm glad to hear someone made use of this thread"

EVERYONE ELSE

Thank you for your input, I appreciate the constructive criticism! I removed the link from this post. I was just trying to give back a bit but apparently lots of people know WAY too much to learn anything .
Have fun with your email submits

Any one with a genuine interest feel free to PM me

What are you after really. Getting several VPSes up and running on your XenServer is not that much of a problem. If you need to ask though, it is, especially if you plan on selling to third parties. There are a few tools, and build scripts and templates to get you started quickly. Let me know what exactly you need. I might be able to help.

To all those asking me via PM, it is not a secret or a great find. The server is with goweb.de .... I am not affiliated with them at all, hence no link. If you check on WHT, they have a thread with a 50% coupon. They also have great prices on i3s and i5s if your needs are more modest.

Another good source for servers, is OVH/Kimsufi. They too do i7s (not sure which model though), with 24Gb ram for about 50 euros.

Volumedrive (which I believe is the host for the BHW), also has a special on Xeons with loads of RAM, although these are currently sold out.

There are good deals to be had if you search for them. Many have (almost) unlimited traffick (>10Tb) per month.

The only downside is that you need to provide your own WinDoze licences, if you get a XenServer base.

OP is misleading people here. he is writing as if so many people are waiting outside to grab a VPS from him.

webhostingtalk has thousands of offers which are cheaper (maybe 80% sometimes) than the quotes given by OP.

so they are NEVER real prices. Nobody (even a real fool) buys a 256MB RAM VPS for $20.

OP, IMHO a ban hammer should come right on your head.:)
