How I ranked a Casino Website

Keywords: Online Casino, Live Casino


As everybody knows how competitive these keywords are in the internet industry. When my client first handed me this website, he told me that he does not care what I do, how I do he just wants to rank for the keywords that I mentioned above. It was a tough task for me because I never worked in a casino website before. I accepted the challenge and this is how I planned and executed.


I scraped out all the pages of the website. With each page I got some keywords to work upon, keywords like:- Casino Hot Games, which are less competitive compared to the main keywords. After scrapping all the pages of the website, I got around 30 keywords which are comparatively less competitive than the main keywords.


I perfected all the inner pages with proper onpage seo. I also made sure that everything in the website is updated either by social platforms or onpage contents. I started to work on the lower competitive keywords targeting the inner pages. While I was working on the inner pages I also threw some valuable links but very less in quantity to the homepage. After a month of work I saw the inner pages appearing in the top 100's and 50's. I updated the client about it but he said me the same thing... "I want those keywords on good positions". I did not change my strategy and went on working, after 2 months the less competitive keywords were ranking good on Google, my client got some good traffic from those keywords. I updated him and he said... "Do what you are doing, because it is giving me hits, but I still want those keywords on top"


After 3 months of work the less competitive keywords are on top10 and the main keywords are also there on 1st and 2nd pages of the results. Now the client says that he is happy with the process that I worked.


I am quite sure that if anyone wants to go to the top he must start from the first step and go towards the top something like using a ladder, I did that and I am rewarded, this strategy never fails, I ranked many websites with this strategy, might be a bit boring and time consuming but this is White Hat.

Thats a tough tough niche well done in ranking a gambling site that industry is super competitive.

First of all kudos. I would like to know if you can you give a ratio between the links targeting the main page and the ones for the inner pages ? (for example 10/2 homepage/inner pages)

This is really motivating! I thought it was "impossible" to rank good for such a keywords.

I hope that is not the case because it would be really bad.

In any case OP, target long tail keywords it's really good and in few cases can be much more profitable instead general and high searched keywords.
It's the basic strategy to do with a high competitive niche, if anyone is surprised not know anything about Seo.

I often use backlink to rank long tail keywords, you do not have used?

i tried to calculate the cost of link building for each low comp kw, and it's not worth it. Lets say you'd have 10 of those (bare minimum), and each kw cost a couple of hundred bucks every month (according to the prices here, and not fiverr). that'd be in the 1k every month before i even see results.

So how would you overcome this issue i'm facing?

Forget the value of the keyword. What's the performance that it may have if it is on the first page?
Very often 90 searches per month convert better than those with 1K if they are more targeted.

If you have this problem you need to return to the concept of keyword research

Hats off man, it is really very difficult climb on the search pages when you have competitive keywords like "Online casino".

can't say if OP is trying to sell his services but he listed basics of SEO... Same principle with twist goes with every niche.

I will take this thread in good sense that OP is trying to inspire new people that even tough and competitive keywords and niche is possible to rank. There are tons of information in this forum and if people will check they will find every thing they need. Just read and implement those ideas... (No need to buy any services).

Are you sure that your site is on page one for "online casino" ?

It's like telling people that i ranked for payday loans without doing extreme backhat. To even rank for money making casino small keywords you will need damn good site with good links. that niche is filled up with burners.

I think it is nowadays becoming a crime to share something on BHW. I should have never written this, people are blaming me that I am promoting my services. I don't have to promote my services here or elsewhere, I have enough clients and they give me enough referrals. So I am not at all interested in any leads from this thread.
