How I make $3K/Month - This is my story, not a method

Hi BHW,

I am from France and I discovered this forum last year. I think this is one of the best forums about IM, as there is so much to learn here. To introduce myself, i'm going to tell you a little about my life...

I know IM since several years, and although I earn some money with it, I never thought I could make an entire living from it. Four years ago, I was making about $200 (well actually the amount is in ?uro) each month. My revenues come from affiliate marketing. Then I twisted and scaled up, and never forgave, even if I had to be patient. I made some mistakes, and learn from them.

Two years ago I was making about $500-$800/month. Last year I was making about 2K/month. Today I'm making about 3K+/Month. I know this is not huge amounts of money for a lot of you who are making several figures a day, but to me this is quite nice, as it is a passive income! I haven't quit my job yet, but I work now part-time which is for me an incredible freedom. Each week I have a whole day for my IM tasks (writing articles, website maintenance, php programming, new ideas to set up for my site), and I can spend a lot more time on this activity. Now I know that it is possible to make a living with IM, and that's my goal.

Each morning I wake up asking myself how much cash I made during the night, and when I see I made $200, I feel very happy for the beginning of the day

I earn that money only with one website on which I tell people how to choose the right product in a given niche. This is an authority site that deals with some others subjects in that niche (this is a science niche). I Have a lot of articles in this site where no affiliate links are present, and a lot of people appreciate this site because it provide the information they are looking for.

I did some bucks with google adsense, but I found the ads irrelevant with my niche and I earned not enough with it ($60/month), so I stopped adsense and focused on affiliate links. I used White hat methods (when I started the site I didn't even know white or black hat existed), so it took a very long time to earn money, but this is very stable, long term increasing money.

So my idea know is to build other authority sites in some niche I feel really interested in, but it really takes a loooot of work, and above all, time. I have started a second website, trying to make it an authority website, I'll see if I succeed with this second one.

I've been reading this forum during several months, and I learned a lot of very interesting and inspirational posts, such as those from Meathead1234, who seems to be a really clever guy.

Wow it's very nice that you have an authority site that does not have adsense on it and earns good with affiliate commissions.
Good luck on your second site! Choosing a niche that you are interested in will definitely help when building it.

Not sure if that was needed, as he based his work on white hat efforts and was already making 2k a month before he had even discovered bhw.

Indeed, my little success so far is by no means due to BHW, but I'm sure it'll change soon!

Congratz!! and i know right? that feeling when you wake up and check the revenue you made since you have gone to bed.

Great story buddy. I am still hoping to earn a passive income because now even I earn 2-4k / month, I am doing this with web design. I really wanted less work more money solution for my business.

Thank you for the link d4l1t0s, I knew this post, it's a very nice one indeed (I prefer writing in english, don't want to translate everything I say in french )! Par contre je remarque qu'il y a beaucoup de francophones sur ce forum!

rcgoodguy: passive income is really great, but don't imagine it's not a lot of work: even if it's passive, you have to work hard every day to keep it going on the long term. And you have to work a lot and for a long time before seeing your first bucks (in my experience it is what happened)

If you work in web design, you could create some nice free templates and sell even nicer ones on your website. Once you've created a nice web design, you could sell it to a good number of people ==> passive income.

Being a noob is not a disease... Everyone here was a noob, failed, and I'm sure a lot succeeded. I think it's important to read great ideas, but you have to implement them, and don't try several methods at once. And believe me, even if you think I'm doing nice money, I'm still a noob and I still have a lot to learn.

For example my main mistake is that my website depends totally on big G. If G decides to deindex my website. I'm down to zero... So I have to diversify!
