Today, I got a list of 4 million emails. This is not a guide. I have not yet sent out emails promoting affiliate offers. I will be using AMAZON SES as other email providers cost too much money. I have no idea if I can make money with this list or what percent of them are fake emails.
Here's the story.
I was cruising through Clickbank market place. For many vendors I usually ask for a review copy (A free copy) since most products are digital so it doesn't cost the vendor to provide me a simple login to their website or set of videos or whatever they are selling.
Eventually, I got a hold of the owner of the guy on skype and he gave me a free copy. I decided to throw in a small question. Do you have any data analysis tasks you need done? I happen to be a data analyst by trade.
Next, he goes "Oh yeah, I have a list of emails that need to be filtered out because a lot of them contain special characters and the emails bounce when the providers tries to email them."
I wrote a simple script in Python to sanitize the emails and then returned it to him to which he replied "thanks! What's your paypal, I'll send you money"
The amount he sent me? $500. How long did it take to create the script? 1 hour.
Not sure how you're tackling your day to day IM marketing journey but try to think outside the box. Ask questions whenever to whoever. Who knows, it may lead to something!
