Pretty nice list of link building methods OP. I doubt the fact you didn't ping your links helped the PR, as this is usually just determined by the places you're linking from. Also you mention to use anchor text as much as possible but it's important to note that you shouldn't over-do it. The anchor text for the keyword you're targeting should be really under 20% of your overall links.

I was tired of doing SEO to try and rank my site all day but luckily I managed to get PR4 on my blog in just 4 months (August-December 2012.)

Does PR matter so much, i dont think so all it matters is traffic whether social or organic. For PR 4 you can sell blogroll links and earn some money but apart from that its of no use. 6 more months have past since december 2012, hope your site's PR is still sticking and you are ripping of the benefit. Good luck

Instead of doing 17 annoying steps, why dont you write some good content and let the visitors share it? Its much easier than what you are doing.

Nice post m8, one questoin, I can't seem to claim my site at technorati. It keeps saying it's not a valid feed, while it is. Also the code is in the post

How is the site doing right now? Does it still obtain the rank of PR4?

what kind of traffic do you get? sorry if its in your post and I missed it.

More simple way is to get a PR 6 + Backlink :|

You can get it for 5$ - Search on fiverr :D :)

The real key here is getting the High PR guest blog post

Make sure you don't over do the anchor text...80/20 rule should apply

WHAT DID I JUST READ?
Dude if u get like 5 pr5 links and a couple more then u will get a pr4 in next pr update... if u have 40-50 PR4 links and some more then google should give u a pr4 in next pr update....
Usually it happens like this - You get 1 lesser_PR_count than the higest_pr_count_of_your_pr_link... i want to say that if you have 100 links and if a few of them are pr3 then u should receive a pr2 in next pr update....

It does not work exactly ^^ but yeah... its very similar to the above lines....
I own 500+ high pr sites and i guess i know that how does it work. Your youtube, fb pages etc tips :O
If u really want to get a higher pr on next pr update then do some ******** high pr comments and make sure that your comments are indexed.... DONE!!!!!!

That is a lot exhausting work I will rather outsource that. The key is write good and unique content.

Just my few cents - I bought a started package (here on BHW) of blog comments. It was only 10 PR1 and 5 PR2 comments.
After PR update my site got PR1 (Actually, 2 sites - same packages)
What im saying, if I chose a higher package with more backling and higher PR, I would get even more than PR1. So..all you gotta do is spend a few (literally, few) dollars and you're all set.

It also depend on your goals, mine was to check if comments can work for getting PR for my sites and as I said.. CHECK!

Clearly this is a good guide for me. Thanks OP!
