his website content is great. He review a product and then make a comparative between them. every article has more than 2K words. the readers will need more time to spend on his website (lower bounce rate). he may applied LSI keywords on his content.

I hope you realize that "the guy can even rank for just two pillar post" and rank other post from them? That's what I learned on that and he will just be inter-linking other posts.
Check through all his post, he would have written a power pillar post in the past

I've checked 10beasts out before, It amazes me too. Not that much content/ not that well written. But the site looks real nice and professional.
Ranking for some monster KWs. Link profile looks like mostly scholarship pages... also a lot of the powerful backlinks are from seo type blogs that are talking about the success of his site, so maybe he actually outreached to them and bought guest posts? Also he mentions he used BHW web2.0 services

Well, if you talk about his content then it's good. But people are having better contents than him. He got ranked caz of his Links profile mostly.
Can you please give me the link where you got to know about that part. I mean which BHW web 2 service? I would also love to test them. I wish I can outrank him by using that service lol .
I do agree with you. He just normally shared the basic things. Everyone we know that he used powerful PBN or powerful links. But what makes a extreme level PBN links ? But it's true that he ranks better than other caz he had a very successful schoolarship Links

I thought I would have a look at the link profile as well.
The anchor text profile is good - mainly brand and URLs. It isn't spammed with money keywords.
The better quality links come from magazine sites and SEO blogs, not scholarship programmes. Examples include nichehacks, mybloggertricks, selfgrowth customerthink and mycustomer.
The site is well known for ranking by scholarship links, but I don't think this is really driving organic traffic. Most pages containing scholarship offers are buried on the websites of universities with high OBL. The domain might have high authority, but the individual page is not likely to push much power. I only found 14 pages from 3 universities linking back to the site with follow links, and 1 with no-follow. The scholarship did get a few links from sites that monitor all scholarship programmes, or from quasi-educational establishments.
Interestingly, there are links from a variety of types of sites. He has contributed to popular, relevant forums (not just spammed them), which could drive non-search traffic. He is also in a few better directories (which are no-follow).
I couldn't find any evidence of blogs of the type a BHW service might offer. That isn't to say that they weren't used, but perhaps they aren't linked to from elsewhere. If there are blogs, they are likely to have minimal impact.
I would guess that the site ranks very well for long-tail keywords, which in turn makes it rank for shorter-tail keywords. Dwell time is likely to be good if there are a whole load of marketers looking at the site trying to dissect how it ranks highly. There are probably also a lot of brand searches in Google from marketers.
There may also be PBNs involved. The products are high enough value such that a couple of sales would justify the cost.

I read about it on the nichepie blog, someone linked to it above. He doesn't mention which provider he used though. I doubt the web 2.0s helped rank those big KWs.

Using hidden pbns? I've an edu backlink before but didn't make a big difference or maybe I just got a dud, but like others have stated he's got a good link profile, quality backlinks and decent onpage seo.

Yes, now-a-days most of his new backlinks are coming from different different SEO's website. And the reason behind this, he shared a great cause study. Even see, we are also sharing about his site. Even you won't believe that, I visit his this site more than mines/ lol
Yes, he might have the great hidden private network blogs for himself only. Edu backlinks still works like as a champ. But you need to know the better use of them. If you just build links yourself on Edu website/blogs that won't going to happen like a Rocket speed. But if you got some Edu links from real university/college website with good anchor (Even brand-able anchors are also fine)
