OK, I am not a thanks whore, but I have noticed that a lot of people are seriously ungrateful.

If I get some useful information from a fellow member, or some free stuff, I always hit thanks. It doesn't cost a penny and takes about one second.

If someone has gone to the trouble to help, or has spent money or time on helping others, I think it's simple good manners to show some appreciation for that. Manners cost nothing.

Rant over.

James :)

It seems that some people mistake the importance of thanks and reputation.
While it's true that people should "care" about the reputation they give away, since that's an indicator on how "trustworthy" is the information a curtain member is sharing, they should definitely be more grateful(loose) when people take the time and effort to write useful posts that are helpful in a way.

Sound like a thankswhore to me to be honest. Just let it go, there are plenty of grateful people on the forum and THEY WILL do it.
Forced thanks is not really a thanks, has no value. Don't worry about it, do your contributions or don't do them, just don't do it to up your little thanks count.

Depends on if I'm actually thankful for the information they have provided. If it's of value to ME. I defiantly don't thank people for regurgitating bullshit or just hitting the same old thing from a different angle. If possible duplicate posts over the exact same things should be removed, flagged and negative rep given in my opinion.

Its basic manners really. If you asked a stranger for directions to a bar you would thank them for helping you.

Most people are thankful here but I have seen people ask questions and get long detailed answers and not bother their hole saying thanks. Nobodies thanks whoring but when it's obvious somebody spent 10 minutes trying to help you a bit of appreciation is a nice touch.

You're right. People dont give a fuck about manners. I recently throw a thread with 160 CodeCanyon scripts and was thanked a few times, but not the amount of downloads that shit had: 346

LOL

It's nothing to do with being a thanks whore. Forum thanks wont pay my rent. It's about being annoyed at bad manners. I am not only talking for myself, I see it on most threads.

If you got help in the real world, or a gift, would you say thanks? I'm guessing you would. Here should be no different.

I have never asked for "Thanks", but for some reason,
I keep getting them . . . Hey!, wait a minute! . . .Maybe
THAT is the SECRET! . . . If you DON'T ask for "Thanks",
you will get more! . . . Weird, eh? . . . Oh well, I am off
to make a WSO based on my newly discovered SECRET. :)

Cheers! - "Wiz"
