How google does detect black hat SEO backlinks

Google isn't as stupid as people think.
Shoddy seo sellers cut corners and leave footprints.

It actually comes down to data mining and natural media patterns involving link building. You can TELL with an untrained eye that most blackhat links are unnatural and purely spam to benefit from link juice, etc. My main field is not SEO but even I can tell when something is made purely for link juice or made for a quality read and shared because it was valuable enough to share.

Its detectable. avoiding it in the first place would be the only way out. Buy try it and see if you can benefit from it for a period.

Well there are many ways to know this
One of the biggest is link creation date.as blakhat guys generally do it in a mass way so they can hide ip or ref but cant hide creation date of bavklinks.even you can find out if your competitor is doing blackhat for link building just by checking date of baklink.this is the point where black hat link building fails.

Like everything else in life, there's a right way of doing it and a wrong one.
If you make sure your blackhat (or whatever you want to call them) links appear natural, you'll do well. Some PBNs look so good, if they were getting some traffic, you could sell them on Flippa.
Others have the default WP install and default settings.

Are people seriously preaching against black hat links on a black hat forum? While not all black hat links are good, saying things like Google detects ALL black hat links is asinine on so many different levels. But hey, less competition in the SERPs for me.

With link farms, Google will just look at the amount of outbound links there are on the page and discredit them. You would be better off with PBNs and a mixture of other links.
