Hi all. I have a student job, but since I have knowledge in HTML, CSS and PHP, I wanna make a website. The website I was thinking about was a streaming website. Basically, some sort of free netflix site. It would be professionally done and would have a clean design. I would place ads on the side and maybe these 15-second video ads where the player would be. How hard would it be to get traffic and which ad provider should I use? Do you think it could be rentable?

It would be very hard plus you better calculate the cost of server+bandwidth. It won`t be cheap. Unless you stream from other sites but still it would be hard to get traffic unless you have something very unique.

    Cheers

I was planning to use the iframe of the video players I know are safe. That way, I don't need to host the files. I don't know how I would get my website popular. Of course posting links, but it would be loooooooong.

Marketing is most of the work, driving traffic is the hard part, at least driving traffic and turning profit :)
You are in the right place, take a look around and you will find many tools and methods that will help your site get traffic.

    Good luck.

Thanks. I'll probably implement a refferal system so it helps the website grow popularity. A facebook page won't be bad either.
