How exactly do proxies work?

I hear a lot about proxies and know what they are (Kinda) but want to know more about them/how they work/pros cons/ how they are made/ and how could i make/use them.
There's more but thats just a general idea of what i'd like to learn.

It's as simple as receiving and resending traffic, that's all. You know python? Do a google on "Python" "Proxies". Trust me, around here, google is not your friend, he is your only friend.

It's a middleman that sends forward everything you send and then returns to you everything you get back.

the destination sees the proxy, not you

where without a proxy it's like this

you <---> destination

destination sees you

there are many kinds of proxies, you'll need to search and read up for the technical details

Actually the Proxies are working as a security guards to Save & secure your data.

Uh-oh, just a small note, free proxies that you see on the internet doesn't really work this way. You see, nothing is actually free, so what these people does is probably steal infos from you or maybe sell it, since they have full control of it, so I really recommend not using free proxies or VPNs.

He he he Dam true, Free versions are provide the limited Features,

If you need to utilize maximum, Need to Pay for that.

That makes sense, but how would i buy a safe secure proxy?

There are many sources for that. Squid proxies, storm proxies...etc. There are a bunch of sellers here on the forum's market place as well. But mind you, there are different types of proxies, your choice should depend on what you hope to achieve. There are mobile, datacenter, residential, dedicated proxies etc. Google these things, my friend.

Think about it this way: Voting by proxy means getting someone to vote on your behalf. You can apply to vote by proxy: for a single election on a specific date.

Meaning the Proxy is the "thing" doing the actual connection to the end service on your behalf

So in real life online terms, you want to connect to Google, you start the connection and Google knows who is connecting to them, ie you, your IP address

SO you dont want Google to know who you are, this time you connect to your "Proxy" and ask them to connect to Google on your behalf, Google knows who is connecting to them, ie the proxy, the proxy IP address (and not you!)

There are lots of ways to use proxies and different types of proxies, these might be data centre proxies, residential proxies, mobile proxies, but they basically do the same function, they "proxy" connections from you to the end service

As mentioned already, check out Squid Proxies both the service provider and the actual software
