How does the process of selling a bot work exactly?

I've made a few bots for various sites and various purposes, but only me and a few of my friends ever used them. I've never sold a bot to anyone. How does that exactly work? Can you share your experiences with us? Do I need to implement a system like a serial number/product key or a user registration?

It depends on what coding language you have them.
Some work with a licensing system, and some don't.

In Python, for example, it's a bit hard to get any sort of licensing, as it's easy to crack.
What I've done in the past is just make some kind of wrapper in python and have the code connect to some sort of REST API on APP Engine(it's cheap).

It's easier to limit connections and see if some code gets shared or not.
 
Thanks for responding. I want to ask another thing, how does pricing work generally? Do you have any tips? I've just read a thread about someone needing a Tiktok video scraper bot. How would you come up with a price for something like this? @Alexion

The pricing depends on many factors:

Do you want to sell your bot for monthly, yearly or lifetime license?

Is it license per device or group of devices?

Is it limited for a number of accounts or use as you like?

For example, let's say a Discord mass DM bot, generally speaking, with what kind of plan would this sell? I have no experience in the selling department, do you have any tips for me?

What are others selling a similar bot for in the various places they are sold?

That is the research you need to be doing as not all bots are equal in features, bugs, etc.

I see. I've been browsing HAF for some time now but no one really talks the details in the open, they always PM each other or talk on a different platform. So, I think best move for me would be to ask questions directly to the sellers/buyers themselves.

The problem is that your features are not always going to be their features so you are not going to be comparing apples to apples.
