How does pinging work for non wordpress sites

Hi Guys,

How would I go about automatically pinging a blog I made in dreamweaver, and post content using adobe contribute (as opposed to wordpress)?

Also, does anyone know how if google frowns upon these kind of sites and prefers wordpress?

I may be wrong but the technology that blogs are set up with, when compared to the static pages, makes pinging automatically. Someone correct me if I am wrong.

There really isn't too difficult about it. Make sure you ping after every post and at least once a week.
