What are the industry preferred tools to test the plagiarism of a particular article? And your favorites?

No other online crawler has the power Google has. The only way to keep it from Google is to put it on the darknet or encrypted.

If it's a new writer I will randomly cut and paste into Google too, to see what comes up.

The days of altering uni-code are long gone ( hopefully )

Maybe plagiarism-detect.com also fits to your needs but don't wonder it is currently down because of server issues. I think they will fix it soon. The advantage is that it is completely free.
