How do You Stay Organized?

Well-organized directory structure is a must, then whatever you keep in it is subjective, some like Excel, some Word, whatever. I've gone through this in a few past jobs, RedMine, Bugzilla, Fogbugz, etc. We did a side by side comparison recently between several online project management tools (Jira, Assembla, Basecamp, Mavenlink) and Assemblah won among the paid ones, but I presently use Maven for personal stuff, it supports Google docs, which is a plus. A word of caution about Feng, I know of at least one case in the past when it went down and took someone's projects along for good...

everyone uses excel. i have one big spreadsheet for link building... every client goes into this one big sheet which i can filter - makes it great for cross selling across campaigns. critical is a status field and a last contacted field.

im writing a free task management and collaboration tool based on wunderlist which should be amazing... i'll keep you posted when its out of beta

The best tip a CEO I used to work with gave me a piece of advice on how to keep organized:

Use AZZ Cardfile.

It's the bomb. I create separate cardfile.azz projects for each project I'm working on, and store related domain, keywords, web 2.0s, articles, to-do lists, etc in a separate file in each project.

www.azzcardfile.com - it's free, but it will occassionaly nag you to upgrade.. just ignore it and click continue testing (no time limit on it lol).

Dope thread. I didn't read the whole thing because I started going into overwhelm but OneNote or EverNote it is. I vote this thread for sticky because it deals with managing everyone's most valuable asset. That which waits for no one.

Also Dude who mentioned creating private forum to manage projects. I used to do that years ago. Thanks for the reminder.:cool:

I'm usually not organized -- I keep everything my head and then use the Noes app on my iPod if necessary.

I don't use Evernote (while it is a great app) and other 3rd party apps because for me it's overkill.

I use passpack to store my passwords. but i'm very disorganised with only 4-5sites, all startupss

Actually Now I have around 30 sites. I maintained around 20 sites by my own. When I was a full time marketer. But Now the amount of sites have increase and also the $$ income is also good. So I have a few outsources to help me in this regard. They are my Virtual assistant.

A huge notepad book, a few Pens & a 900x600mm white board coming my way.
