How do You Stay Organized?

Spreadsheet, whiteboard, and I outsource as much as possible. It's worth a few extra bucks if the service is good because it frees up my time A LOT. And since time is money, it's really cheaper that way :)

Thanks for all the inputs. This is going to keep me busy for a while. I currently using mindjet to keep my work process organized. Great piece of software.

I use a custom database made with a program called "Database Oasis". I can access the database from all of the PC's in my network. Of course it took a few weeks to set up properly, but it was well worth it.

I'm looking for a complete project and client management software. Although Mindjet has got mind mapping planning, collaboration, templates they lack a support ticket system, payment options that Active Collab and Code Canyon Free Manager has. You can easily export data in CSV directly from the database with Active Collab because they use MySQL and I'm contacting Code Canyon to see if their web-based software does this. Even if I used Mindjet Connect services and Fresh Books, it's still more expensive than the other 2 options I'm looking at. Although I'd prefer a desktop system with a firewall, being able to get .csv from the desktop and web databases is critical for backups, data migration and security issues -- especially web-based software.

Man, great thread.
I was using folders / notepad++ and corel draw.
I use Corel Draw is to keep organized different processes (draw arrows, write notes etc).
Now I learned and installed TreePad which is really great.
 
i manage all my password with roboform and just autologin with 1 click
but need to be more organized about the task to do
 
if you want to stay organized try a project management tool, just google it
 
If it gets too organized...I might as well be working at a bank or an insurance company! :eek:

A healthy dose of chaos is what's needed to get my blood flowing each morning and to keep it FUN.
 
I used to be a c#+.net programmer.I always store my work in folders named with date,I found that way simple but efficient after years of experiences in programing!
 
I have every project (whole website) in multiple excel sheets, tens of folders and a tens of .txt filer for notepad++

It's a quite mess and I am lost....total chaos...I need new system lol
 
Swift to do list works pretty well. It let's you have multiple projects with sub-to do lists. Inside of those you can have to-do items or notes.

I end up having a number of project folders with both to-do lists and also site info inside. You can also link to excel or other documents within your notes. Works really well if you need to centralize information and stay on track.
 
Some of you guys mentioned so many tools that I think I might end up spending more time organizing folders rather than doing the work.

I'm using Wunderlist but I'm still looking for ways to manage my passwords. I think I'll go for the classic method: Excel sheets and lots of folders.
 
If you got that many web properties and assets then you need to hire an outsourcer to organize it for you (if you are making money to justify the cost).

Why focus on something that's not making you money, when you can hire someone to worry about it for you (while you make money)
