How do You Stay Organized?

Here is the download link for treepad for anyone wanting to try it. Like I said it works pretty good not the best bit of kit in the world but I really haven't found too much better.

1. wordpress blogs. They have a wide array of tools, so that they can be fully automated, and with the amount of themes, and settings, you can use dynamic, or static all sorts of good stuff.

2. once you have setup your wordpress blogs, make them auto blogs. You can do this with simple tools, like managewp (currently use to good effect) wp-robot (allows me to drip content as i see fit), and manage wp-robot. managewp will allow you to group your sites into different categories, that way you can work on one niche at a time.

3. once all the blogs are setup, I use manage wp-robot to handle all of my day to day content, and change schedules, and then i work hard at having articles spun. 4. sit back and enjoy. I make about 50 dollars each day per site. With 400 sites, it's easy, and then i find tricks to do in my spare time., such as look at the commets that hit moderation from other spammers, approve them, and then get the info, then delete the commet. FREE PROXIES

That's the only way I have found to stay organized with that many sites. I hope it helps you, it can be a little troublesome to setup though, but once it's done, it's golden

i have a private forum... on which i create a new thread for each new project/task.
all the details are then posted as replies.... sometimes using quotes to show linkage between two sets of info.

Tried to organize with Outlook-Tasks + Stickies but this got too messy and hard to keep track after a while.

The best solution that worked for me to store anything (BHW strategies, Bookmarks, Passwords, ...) in ONE global file with MindJet Mindmanager. Supports Excel/Word/OneNote files, URL-linking, Image embedding,...

I create a folder for each website I own, and I put
everything and anything that relates to the site in
that specific folder. It works for now, but I think I'm
going to have to upgrade to a dual monitor sometime
soon, but for now I'm working from my Macbook.

I tried stuff like TiddyWiki, ActionOutline, WizFolders, WikidPad (nice but too simple), TaskCoach (almost liked it but lacked some important stuff) but none is close to what I need.

I stay away from web-based/cloud-based services because I really like my privacy. Otherwise maybe I would use Evernote or even just the simple Google Notes.

Spreadheet and make tabs in it .. for instance 1 spread sheet and inside, many tabs like, email accounts, paypals, forums, etc etc

i have two sites and have trouble staying organized haha, cant imagine what it owuld be like with 100!

i use a todolist addon for firefox that helps me with my daily tasks and anything else so i dont forget. its great, can have recurring tasks, ie 1st of every month handle accounting, 15th pay bills etc.

i also use freemind mind mapping software to help keep track of my seo stuff.

ontop of that i use a massssssive excel which lists all my web 2.0's, the keywords they are targeting, when i last blasted them etc.

I managed lots of classes fairly well using OneNote when I was in school. It can go as broad or as deep as you like while keeping things fairly organized. The thing I really learned with OneNote is that after the first year using it... I wiped it. I was much better at being able to organize everything after I got a better feel for it. It allows for screen clippings, links, etc, etc, etc, etc. So I would imagine it could work wonders as well for what you want.

Also to note I used a tablet laptop during school, so switching between writing and typing and recording classes was super easy... so I could be biased. Just knowing all the functionality you have is half the battle no matter what you want to use.

If you want to go the "excell" route I would suggest just making a database of stuff that you can call upon easily. It would be a lot cleaner than a straight forward spreadsheet(s).

I use Springpad with my iPad and PC (so it synchronizes). You can create different Notebooks. In these Notebooks you can create notes (of course) but also tasks and alerts.
And it's free

I use an actual diary! Yes a physical one where i work we have google apps and so appointments sync between all of our devices.

But there's a few things in life that I prefer doing away from the computer and keeping organised is one of them - I found that whatever program I used on the computer it was hard making sure I could always access it so with a diary it's always there to be written in.

And it's nice and visual - just cross through every task as it is completed.

I used to be really unorganised and have random files all over the place. Now I just have 5 folders on my desktop, ones business and the rest personal/entertainment. In the business folder I have a folder for each separate website. I chose to make bigger sites than hundreds of small site simply because its easier to run really. In each website folder I have more folders, sorting out orders, design/themes etc, and all other kinds of shit.

I think its easier to stay organised if you use pen and paper because you can't get unorganized that way really.

I have put a system together that works for me which I will give you as an example, however, keep in mindthat this is only an example to you to construct your own that works for your work ethic, time table and style of production.

I have a couple of elements in the system:

* A folder in a secure briefcase on my computer, which contains a series of folders-

- current projects - this is where you obviously keep everything you are working on in it's own individual subfolder within this file. As you go along, label the projects

- conceptual projects - this is where you keep word/text documents of notes with your concepts/ideas you want to develop into future projects. It is also the folder where you store your projects that have been developed beyond the concept stage and actually have some work invested in them.

- journal - this is the folder where you keep your personal thoughts, production history and the written processes of clearing your mind.

These folders work with the following tools that you can get to organize and be productive:

- a copy of ' the action machine ' - you can find a copy here in the forum by searching for it. Everything you do on your own should be set to push within a window of time and for a select number of listed items to be accomplished within that time frame.

The reason for the list and the timer working together is to proactively make you produce under the pressure of getting as much done as possible before the timer runs out. This also keeps you from burning the whole day with distractions of ' muttling through ' a list of tasks instead of getting them done and moving on, giving more time to something else that also needs attention/production.

- a virtual organizer, I use ' the ultimate organizer ' software package, as it allows me to print scheduled calendars, day planner pages, etc.

- a PRINTED PAGE planner, as it is easier to change on the fly and easier for the method of highlighting what is done.

- a spare set of pens and highlighters on hand, as well as other stuff, ( I use oldschool calculators, a notebook, graph paper/rulers, etc. My backpack looks like I'm in highschool but, I have everything I need for when an idea hits me on the fly. Same of my briefcase when I carry it. ).

The process is simple:

* Make a master list of your current projects pending completion.

* Make step by step tasks to completing those projects.

* Make a week's worth of daily schedules with 3-5 tasks, 1 or 2 from each project, ( If you have more than 5 projects in your current projects folder, you need to prioritize them and not overload yourself ).

* Set the timer during that period for the task at hand and go for it 100% until you get it completed or the time runs out. If the time runs out, push through with another 20-30 minutes and complete it.

* Move on to the next and the next, giving yourself an average of an hour per task, with a 10 minute break between that you need to get up and walk around/move...to keep blood flow in your body,( people die from unknown blood clots due to sitting too long ),...this also resets your attention for the next task.


Give it a shot and see how it works for you. I haven't failed to meet a deadline since I began this process in 2006.

I'm glad i started this thread. Many suggestions and ways of doing things. Thank you all for the suggestions.

I usually put all my assignments into a mega huge text file so that I can review it as and when I need to and I place all of my data into folders with the project name in it. Then I use a small A5 sized notebook to keep all of my to-do, to-buy and to-call list. Easy peasy.

I use several spreadsheets. Not optimal by any means. I wish I had a program that would allow me to easily set up things for each of my web sites to keep all of there information, and then on a schedule, remind me to go check on the site and do maintenance.

I've actually had a couple of instances where I forgot about some of my sites. I got them up and running and then didn't think about them again until I saw them in an earnings report and said "oh ya", I need to check on that site. And then of course there is a lot of maintenance that I need to do at that point.

I second OneNote. You can also sync it to your Skydrive. It's free all you need is a hotmail account.

Or you can also try Evernote.
