This issue is either overlooked, ignored or handled. I guess we all have different ways to stay organized. Ironically, for some people not having to handle spreadsheets or apps or whatever most of you are using makes them a lot more organized.

This is something I've personally struggled with and I always welcome new ideas. I've tried many different approaches and nothing sticks with me for a long time. (I'm convinced I'm the issue, not the tools :D)

Currently, I rely on Mac's Notes app and TickTick (which is a todo app). I'm aware many people use Notion but personally, I find it extremely overwhelming to deal with it.

So, what do you use - either method, apps, tools, etc? o_O

Tie it to a goal you simply can’t afford to miss, remind your mind why that goal is important rest will take care.
A goal might contain multiple steps/phases. Do you break it down to smaller more manageable pieces? How do you track those ... hence my question :)

I Simply use notes, simple write each one down and erase it when done so it doesn’t look cluttered. It’s not fancy but does the trick

I use an A3 artist sketchbook as a notebook - it's like having a big whiteboard you can fold away.
Apart from that I also use a diary and a monthly calandar on and off.
I also try to keep life as simple and clear as possible so it's easier to focus on the complicated stuff when it comes along; Cal Newport's Deep Work is a good book to read.

I'm not
I start doing something then a client contract me for a service so i do it right away then forget what I was doing and start a new thing
A lot of people are like that!

I work in random bursts.

I’ve a large 6x4 whiteboard that stares me in my face when I wake up in the morning just opposite to my bed. I write down what needs to be done for the day and erase them one by one as I go through them.
Simple enough. I know many people do that. Alternatively, I've seen people sticking to .. well, stickies as they love the physical touch of and make them more productive.

Meanwhile, I stopped using paper (especially for lists) because I'd make a grocery list, go to do the grocery, and realize forgot the damn list at home.

So you didn’t stop using paper because it’s good for the environment? You’re a tree, you should know better.

I still own books and stuff. But I'm mindful of the environment for sure! ;) #TreeVerified

Define a goal and do everything you need in order to achieve that goal. Look back each day, see if you can improve anything and improve it

Staying organized is a skill. It's difficult to do. Many people struggle with it. Myself included.

Monday.com & clockify.me is what I use, it's the easiest to use for GTD methodology I find. I've strived for years to find a system that worked for me. After 7 months of using this, and being able to track my time down to almost the hour for reflection on all the departments I work in, it's great to see where my priorities are. You don't have to feel guilty about what you've been doing or IF you've been doing, I can see I have done admin, graphics, articles, links, social, development, research, etc, and how many hours I spent on those. Those are some of my 14 departments.

Highly recommend clockify with whatever task manager you use, to see what you've been doing if your task manager doesn't do detailed reports. Make your projects in it your departments, and your tags your websites or type of task, and you can get cross-pollination reports. :)

Depends on what I am doing. :)

For daily tasks in general, I use apple note (oh and you can add a checklist here too! Right click on the note to add one. On iphone, click the checklist icon while on a note).

For programming tasks, I use trello, teamwork. Trello helps when I am trying to do some tasks quickly, and the tasks have weight (some are more important/tougher to achieve than others).

For billable programming tasks, I use clockify along with the other apps mentioned above.

For reminders, Calendar and Alarm work perfectly fine.

p.s. will try tick tick since you mentioned it. :)

I use a few things. Most important is an app called “Things 2” on Mac and iPhone. This helps me to stay accountable and get work done for multiple projects. It goes far beyond a typical run of the mill to-do app.

If get stuck on something and find myself spending too much time on one little thing or find myself being an air head online, I just look at what I previously determined I needed to be doing and can switch tasks or get back to work.

This gives me a lot of direction especially later in the day when I’m burning out.

Traditional method, peace of paper and a pen.. Write down everything important you need to do the day before, write down everything like exact time you wake up and do important tasks...
