how do you "fork" Bitcoin code ? where do you get it? how does it work? are there any websites that offer these services? I do know it is up to you to market your new currency, but how do you get started? thanks B H W.

I made my own a while back for fun using this guide.

You need two computers, which can be on a LAN, with one of them running a linux distro. I installed Ubuntu on an old laptop for this, and learned as a I went. It's a good excuse to learn a bit about programming and linux, you should be able to get one up and running within a few hours. Good luck!
