You may need to give it some time as well, as mentioned above as well. One site I was ranking for a competitive keyword I did some serious SEO and couldn't get past the top 60. I stopped SEO for a month and a half and when I looked back after this time I was on the first page. I'm not saying stop your SEO, I'm just saying you may need to give it time.

Agree. If you get high quick, you risk a penalty. Good SEO needs time.
