Although I am aware that discipline and work is required for success, manifesting it has proven to be very difficult on many occasions. My mind becomes immersed in some form of entertainment and I am unable to concentrate on the activity at hand. To prevent this, I intend to curtail the time on entertainment, abstain from it while I am work and possibly shift it towards the end of the day.

Has this ever occurred to you? If so, how do you ensure that the feeling subsides?

    Thank you.

What do you dream about being able to afford? A big mansion? Lamborghini? Vacation in Hawaii? I look up things I want to buy and it drives me to work harder.

It sounds to me like you might have ADD or ADHD I was diagnosed as a child but my parents never would put me on meds. Six months ago I decided to go and get tested myself and was put on meds that have changed my life I am 1000 times more able to focus and get things done. It has improved all areas of my life not just work. My relationships have improved my over all health has improved everything has improved.

Need is the best motivator. However I should advise some of the best
success comes from self motivation. We cannot count on other things
or people to motivate us. Just use outside motivation as a bonus.

I do that too! I actually have a folder of pictures of luxury items that I saved for motivation... Cadillacs, mansions, Armani suits, all the good stuff!

OP, motivation is different for everyone. What motivates someone else might not work for you. You just have to find your own way. But I think something that works for everyone is seeing your efforts pay off for the first time. Once I saw real money showing up, I was hooked forever!

I just balance my checkbook and look at the stack of bills rolling in. That's puts a fire under my ass every time.

I think I might have ADHD too but was never diagnosed, however whenever I take adderall, which i have been doing it for the past 3 months, I am able to seriously work 6-10 hours non stop no bhw, no bullshit.

However, the next day I feel really tired and like shit. I take the adderall though at night so i pull all nighters and don't go to sleep till the next day which means I go awake for almost 2 days. But hey no pain no gain.

I look at all my loser friends on facebook then realize that if I'm not motivated I could end up like one of them.

Not jerking off actually builds motivation / energy / focus...it's because dopamine re-balances...too much masturbation depletes dopamine, dopamine the main chemical for motivation
Go a month without masterbation and you will be more motivated, guaranteed.

There are times when I just feel like doing the work "later" and chilling with friends.
But then I open my bank account and see my balance, and imagine what it would feel like having double that.

This motivates me a lot and most of the times, I stay and finish the work.

Also some nice Wiz Khalifa tunes in the background keeps it all cool and sweet :)

Something Im listening to right now:

    Work hard.. play hard! ;)

Think about why you're doing it - to make a future for yourself. It's never too late. Turn all your worries into positive energy and do the best that you can do. We're only humans and I'm pretty sure you're not the only one that feels this way. Remember - 'Laziness pays off now, hard work pays off later'.
