How do you do "keyword research"?

I think everybody use a other trick.
I use Google Keyword Planner
And most of times I just type in something crazy like : pitbull chihuahua mix ( just a example )
This long tail keyword has 4400 local USA search and Low competition and clickprice of about 3 dollars ....
Then I check if the domainname is still available then I buy it and start my microsite.
Normally I buy like 10 articles ( cost me around 15 to 20 dollars )
I drip the articles like 1 or 2 a week and without SEO or linkbuilding I will be on the first or 2e page of google.
If not then I will drip a few extra articles.
My ROI ( Return on investment ) is within 3 to 6 months .
So I think thats ok

Hi,

My suggestion is google keyword planner is the best option for keyword research. I understand your problem, You should try like this..

First find any relative keyword in the google planner and make it as your main targeted keyword.

Then build heavy amount of contents with targeting the keywords in the title and in the body of the contents in a way to catch easily. You have to add the targeted keyword in the meta desc of your website as well. Then do some guest posts with targeting your main keywords as well.

This method can definitely work!

Good luck!

Google Trends should be #2 for everyone using GKP. No point in targeting keywords if they're on the decline

Yeah Its bit hard to go for own KW research. But you can find pretty good results with Google KW planner in your niche. Following other tools will also be wise step like semrush, wordsteam, ubersuggest. Also google trend can let you know the in what direction your KW are flowing. You can just get some basic idea so but if you dont like to take risk its better you can hire a expert.

There is an abundance of keyword planning tools available. The consensus appears to lean toward G Keyword Planner, while Market Samurai, Long Tail Pro, and Ubersuggest are a few others that are beneficial keyword planning tools.

Along with the keyword planner, you can just type your word or phrase and look at what it suggests to you, plus after you hi "search" there will normally be other keywords and keyphrases down at the bottom of the results page. That is all I use at this point.

Believe in tools in the beginning, then you will get to know how to do it manually. I am also still learning from the tools :)
